As we continue to grow, we’re investing in the next generation of our platform and are looking for experienced engineers who want to help shape its future.\nWhat you'll do:\nLead design discussions around data architecture, modeling strategy, and platform evolution\nIdentify opportunities to simplify and scale the data platform\nDrive improvements to data reliability, observability, and data quality\nEstablish and promote best practices for data modeling, testing, and code review\nHelp the team prioritize work and balance speed with technical quality\nDevelop and optimize ETL processes\nIntegrate data sources across a broad product portfolio to provide stakeholders access to key information they need to excel at their job\nMentor other data engineers\nChallenge how business use cases fit together and fit into our product\nDetermine and proactively communicate future impacts of proposed or ongoing work\nHelp the team mitigate any issues that arise in their product and its ecosystem\nModel data and metadata to support ad-hoc and pre-built reporting facilitating data access for our BI tools and analytical reporting\nProvide technical guidance to help Data Engineering evolve access to data platform\nWork with engineering to integrate tracking of new functionality into the data ecosystem\nOptimize the performance of business-critical queries\nExplain why the projects their team is working on have been prioritized over other projects\nAbout you:\n7+ years of data engineering experience \nExperience with data warehouses and large-scale analytics systems (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.)\nStrong experience designing and building data pipelines and data platforms\nCloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred)\nExperience building and maintaining relational as well as document, key-value, and other noSQL databases\nAdvanced Python & SQL skills\nExperience working with third-party APIs for data integration\nExperience with business process automation\nBachelor's degree or higher in a technical field (or similar combination of education and experience)\nSpark and Redshift experience (PySpark preferred)\nExperience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, etc.)\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation)\nExperience with event or streaming systems (Kafka or similar)\nCI/CD experience\n\nDemonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.\nAdditional Information\nThe monthly gross salary range for this position is CZK 91,000 to CZK 125,000. 8am is committed to fair, objective, and non-discriminatory compensation, and actual pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.\nWhy join our new 8am Brno hub?\nFounding Team Impact: Be a founding engineer of our new Czech Republic R&D hub.
