We operate in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Atlanta and Miami, with more markets launching soon.\nAbout the Role\nAt 8Fleet, claims sit at the intersection of fleet availability, driver experience, insurance costs, repair expenses, operational risk and company economics. Today our accident and vehicle-incident claims run largely on manual workflows in Google Sheets. You'll manage those claims directly while building the claims function from the ground up: the processes, the standards and the reporting that turn claims data into decisions that save money.\nThis role sits on our Central Operations team and is based in Los Angeles or San Francisco.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn accident and vehicle-incident claims across all markets, from first notice of loss through investigation, repair coordination, negotiation, settlement and closure.\n\nBuild the incident intake and triage process, including what happens in the first 24 hours.\n\nBe the main contact for carriers, TPAs, adjusters and defense counsel, and hold them to clear expectations.\n\nRun subrogation and recovery as a real workstream.\n\nPartner with market leaders to turn accident trends and risk patterns into operational changes.\n\nBuild claims reporting leadership can plan against: frequency, severity, cost per vehicle and open-claim aging.\n\nMove claims onto a proper system and support insurance renewals with clean loss data.\n\nKeep us compliant with state requirements in CA, GA, FL and each new market.\n\nBuild the team as volume grows.\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n7+ years in auto, fleet, transportation or commercial auto claims, including owning a claims function or program end to end.\n\nExperience with third-party liability and bodily injury claims.\n\nStrong claim-file judgment and experience working with TPAs and defense counsel.\n\nConfidence pushing back on carriers on reserves and coverage.\n\nMulti-state experience, ideally including California.\n\nA methodical approach and comfort building process where none exists.\n\nNice to Have\nAIC, SCLA, ARM or similar designation.\n\nSelf-insured or large-deductible program experience.\n\nFleet, rideshare, delivery or logistics background.\n\nPeople-management experience.\n\nCompensation\nBase Salary: $130,000-$150,000 + equity\nEqual Opportunity Employer\n8Fleet is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company.
