This individual will serve as a dynamic, versatile leader responsible for overseeing all day-to-day maintenance functions for a fixed-route transit fleet. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will provide strategic leadership and direction to maintenance personnel, including technicians, utility workers, and supervisors, while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.\nKey responsibilities include developing and mentoring staff, setting clear performance expectations, promoting ongoing technical training and ASE certification, and driving a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead efforts to maximize fleet reliability, improve maintenance performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the delivery of safe and dependable transportation services.\nQualifications\nTalent Requirements:\nMust have at least three (3) or more years of recent (within the last five (5) years) and relevant experience managing the maintenance functions of a transit bus maintenance shop similar in scope, size, and complexity, and with the same or similar type of transit vehicles/equipment. \nMust have experience managing/directing 10+ employees (fleet Technicians/Cleaners). \nExperience working with 30 + buses within the last year. \nMust be able to track and control parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers. \nMust be able to properly prioritize, implement, and manage work schedules, projects, and assignments. \nMust be able to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation. \nMust be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in writing and verbally. \nMust have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook. \nMust have technical competence in light/medium/heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance. \nMust display initiative, professionalism, candor, and tact at all times. \nASE certifications are a plus, or must be obtained within 6 months of being hired \nTechnical experience with fixed route transit bus maintenance. \nSolid knowledge of managing audits and PM schedules. \nAttention to housekeeping and worksite organization.\nExperience with Diesel, hybrid, and EV buses.\nMust have a Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
