This position will support managers and staff through a variety of tasks related to our transportation services.\nResponsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nManage Extra Board (EB) operators - ensure that all open work is being distributed amongst the EB operators fairly and in accordance with the CBA.\nAssign buses by ensuring that the proper bus is being assigned to correct run.\nUpdate dispatch logs - ensure that paperwork is completely up to date with bus assignments, absence coding, call-out comments and operator names.\nUpdate dispatch computer - ensure that all coding in the computer is correct and up to date for timekeeping purposes.\nAnswer the dispatch phone and correctly record info onto the daily dispatch log regarding call offs and attendance coding.\nCollects all paperwork turned in by operators and ensures that it is sent to the correct department.\nTracks all shuttle cars coming in and leaving the yard, collect DVIR sheets.\nEnsure that all lost and found items are collected and correctly tagged and logged by the operators.\nWorks directly with the radio operator regarding fill buses, swap buses, operator reliefs and mechanical breakdowns.\nManage overtime operators - ensure that overtime operators are utilized and tracked according to the needs of the service.\nUnderstands that he/she must remain professional and friendly at all times.\nChecks the operator in/out - operators report directly to the dispatch window at the start and end of each shift. \nDispatcher ensures that operators are being paid from start to finish of each assignment accurately and all documentation is signed off properly by operations staff.\nEnsure that all light duty personnel are taken to their assigned locations.\nFills open runs - ensures that all last-minute open runs (due to Susp, LOA, BRE, VAC or termination) are filled in a timely manner, either with an EB operator or an OT operator.\nAssist the Operations Manager by ensuring that all operators who are on the “See Ops” list are sent to the Operations Manager at the start or end of the operators shifts.\nUniforms - ensure that all operators reporting for duty are in proper uniform attire.\nAssist with employee functions.\nAdditional assignments as assigned.\nQualifications\nHigh School diploma.\nMinimum two (2) years administrative management or equivalent.\nIdeal candidates will have one to two years of dispatch experience.\nAbility to multi-task.\nAbility to think strategically.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nAbility to read and enter data.\nAttention to detail.\nAbility to operate a business telephone in a professional manner.\nProvide excellent customer service.\nAbility to follow directions and work independently.\nAbility to communicate effectively on all levels.\nMaintain a professional appearance and demeanor.\nAdvanced knowledge of Windows based computer operations systems.\nAbility to read, write and speak English.\nAbility to comprehend policies and procedures.\nStarting pay rate: $19.25/hour\nBenefits are available to full time employees.\nTeamsters Health Clinic while actively working\nRetirement Benefits: 401k with company match\nPersonal Days Off: 2 days after completing 1 year, 3 days after 3 years, 4 days after completing 5 years of employment contingent upon appropriate attendance.\nSick time: 40 hours of paid after 12 months of employment\nJury Duty: Up to 5 paid days of jury duty service after 12 months of employment\nBereavement Leave: up to 3 days for qualifying family members\nPaid Holidays: 8 paid holidays\nMV Transportation is committed to a policy of Equal Employment Opportunity and will not discriminate against an applicant or employee on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, national origin or ancestry, sex, physical or mental disability, veteran or military status, genetic information or any other legally recognized protected basis under federal, state or local laws, regulations or ordinances.
