Available opportunities include Bakery Clerk, Baker, and Cake Decorator positions.\nSelected candidates will initially complete training at our Store #808 location in Torrance while preparations are made for the reopening of the bakery at Store #55 in Westwood. Upon completion of training and the reopening of the Westwood bakery, employees will report to Store #55 as their primary work location.\nCandidates must be willing and able to temporarily train at the Torrance location.\nPositions and Responsibilities:\nBakery Clerk:\nAssist with preparing raw materials according to recipes and the supervisor's instructions.\n\nWrap and package bakery products accurately and efficiently based on customer requests.\n\nEnsure products have proper signage and are displayed according to company standards.\n\nStock shelves, replenish products, and rotate products using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.\n\nMonitor expiration dates and remove expired or damaged products from displays.\n\nGreet customers, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.\n\nFollow cash-handling procedures and complete the checkout process accurately and efficiently when assigned.\n\nBaker:\nPrepare bakery products according to approved recipes, procedures, and quality standards.\n\nMeasure, mix, form, cut, shape, proof, and bake dough and other bakery products.\n\nOperate bakery equipment safely and according to established procedures.\n\nMonitor baking times, temperatures, freshness, appearance, and product quality.\n\nMaintain appropriate product levels and prepare additional products based on business needs.\n\nFollow food-safety, sanitation, labeling, and product-rotation requirements.\n\nCake Decorator:\nPrepare, frost, decorate, and finish cakes and other bakery products according to company standards.\n\nComplete customer cake orders accurately and within the required timeframe.\n\nApply borders, flowers, designs, writing, and other decorative elements based on customer requests.\n\nMaintain the quality, freshness, appearance, and presentation of decorated products.\n\nAssist customers with cake selections, available designs, sizes, flavors, and special-order requests.\n\nProperly store, label, rotate, and display finished products.\n\nGeneral Responsibilities:\nUnload and break down deliveries and maintain an organized stockroom.\n\nMaintain a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment.\n\nFollow all company policies, food-safety procedures, sanitation requirements, and applicable government regulations.\n\nProperly handle expired, damaged, or recalled products according to the supervisor's instructions.\n\nUse ingredients and materials efficiently to minimize product waste.\n\nHelp safeguard department products, supplies, equipment, and other company assets.\n\nParticipate in product demonstrations and promotional activities when assigned.\n\nWork cooperatively with supervisors and other team members to support department operations.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned based on business needs.\n\nMinimum Requirements:\nPrevious bakery, baking, cake-decorating, food-preparation, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred.\n\nBaker and Cake Decorator candidates should have relevant experience or knowledge related to the position.\n\nAbility to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures.\n\nAbility to provide friendly and professional customer service.\n\nGood time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nAbility to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.\n\nAvailability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on department and training needs.\n\nWillingness and ability to temporarily complete training at Store #808 in Torrance before transitioning to Store #55 in Westwood.\nEmployee Benefits:\nBenefits May Include:\nHealth insurance.\n\nEmployee discount.\n\nCompensation:\nThe pay range for this position is $15.50 - $16.50 per hour.
