We welcome new members to join and grow along with our team!\nJob Summary\nThe Seafood Merchandising Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, negotiating, sourcing, and procurement of regional responsible products consistent with company policies and procedures. This position ensures the continuous flow of product in the most efficient and cost-effective manner by managing the supply chain.\nResponsibilities:\nCoordinate and identify suppliers of product, negotiate weekly price and quantity terms. Maintain established service levels for product in-stock. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.\nSelect vendors based upon their ability to provide a continuous supply of product; overall service level; quality and value of product; and their understanding of the marketplace.\nMaintain relationships with vendors by resolving problems with invoicing, product, or delivery to ensure quality service and longevity of relationships.\nSelect product based upon application to our market, product performance, alternate sources of supply, and overall reputation of the vendor.\nNegotiate prices and quantities ordered based upon regional stores orders, economic order point (volume discount vs. efficient utilization of warehousing space), promotion of product, and overall market conditions.\nProvides product and pricing information to regional stores force and makes recommendations regarding pricing structure for product lines based upon volume and margin considerations.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned.\nAccountabilities:\nPlan, prepare, and process daily requisitions and purchase orders to support stores’ needs, and expedite orders to support stores’ needs.\nDemonstrate effective collaboration skills by open communication and sharing pertinent business information.\nEstablish and maintain order policies and lead times for products, and request pricing quotes from suppliers to determine the best supply source.\nIdentify and qualify new or alternate product sources, represent the company successfully, and exercise flexibility in their approach to negotiations with suppliers.\nReview suppliers to ensure they understand the quality and delivery requirements.\nMaintain flexibility, high quality, and competitive pricing in the supplier base.\nAnticipate potential problems and risks, and generate ideas, insight, and solutions to resolve problems.\nAnalyze supplier performance and negotiate lead time reduction and/or stocking programs with suppliers to reduce inventory burden.\nQualifications:\nA bachelor’s degree in agriculture business, marketing, supply chain management, or other business-related fields.\n3 years of seafood purchasing, wholesale, retail, or related work experience\nStrong knowledge of the meat industry, market trends, and pricing strategies.\nExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a refrigerated environment\nMust have a valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation.\nAbility to identify and qualify new or alternate product sources, represent the company successfully, and exercise flexibility in your approach to negotiations with suppliers.\nAbility to analyze varying product and service features, prices, and qualities, and determine the most cost-effective purchase for the organization.\nAbility to resolve issues and make timely recommendations and decisions by being resourceful.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, government regulations, and legal documents.\nAbility to travel and work limited weekends and holidays.\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.\nPosition Details:\nEmployment type: Full time\nSalary: $80,00 - $105,000 \nLocation: 2931 Faber St Union City, CA 94587\nBenefits:\nMedical, Dental, and Life Insurance\n401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with 4% Company Match\nLong-Term Service Award\nEmployee Discount\nPaid Time Off\nPrivacy Statement:\nBy submitting your information, you acknowledge that you have read our privacy statement (copy of which is available at the worksite) and available at https://99ranch.com/pub/articles/detail?id=26004 and consent to receive communications from us.\nBeware of Job Scams:\nWe prioritize applicant safety at Tawa Group.
