Oversees production across machining cells and equipment platforms, ensuring alignment of people, processes, materials, and equipment to meet operational goals. Drives operational performance through leadership, workforce management, process discipline, and continuous improvement.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead daily machining operations, ensuring execution of production plans to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.\nCoordinate workflow across machining cells, including equipment loading, queue management, and changeover efficiency.\nEnsure operational readiness, including tooling, fixturing, material availability, and equipment capability.\nMonitor and drive performance through KPIs (such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap, and cost); communicate results and drive corrective action.\nIdentify and resolve operational issues related to equipment, tooling, workflow, and staffing; escalate systemic issues as needed.\nLead, coach, and develop team members, support performance management, training, onboarding, and employee engagement of technical roles such as CNC Machinist, CNC Programmers, and Leads.\nManage workforce administration, including timekeeping, attendance, and scheduling to meet production demands.\nPartner cross-functionally and with HR to address employee relations, staffing needs, and operational challenges.\nEnsure adherence to standard work, quality standards, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.\nDrive continuous improvement using lean principles, support cost control, waste reduction, and process efficiency.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nThorough knowledge of machining operations in a manufacturing environment, including CNC and manual machining processes.\nIn-depth knowledge of production flow, tooling, fixturing, and equipment utilization.\nWorking knowledge of ERP, MES and shop-floor systems.\nWorking knowledge of quality standards, inspection methods, and production documentation.\nWorking knowledge of safety practices and regulatory requirements.\nProven ability to lead teams and drive accountability in a fast-paced, equipment-driven environment.\nStrong problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization skills.\nEffective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to analyze performance data and drive corrective actions.\nProficiency in standard computer and operational systems.\nEducation and Experience\n3-5 years of experience in manufacturing operations with machining or fabrication experience.\n1-3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.\nExperience working with CNC equipment and production processes.\nBachelor’s degree in manufacturing, operations, engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting multi-cell or complex machining operations.\nExperience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.\nLean, Six Sigma, or related continuous improvement certification.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift.
