Help to mentor the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through completion.\nResponsibilities\nParticipate in industry groups.\nPerform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision.\nOversees all aspects of a significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. \nDevelops an action plan and estimates requirements for resources-management, labor, materials, and time required to complete project. \nPrepares monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management. \nUser of CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, LabView, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA. \nDevelops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field. \nAnalyzes and identifies causes of component failures.\nCapable of providing technical solutions to help solve manufacturing issues or address customer field issues; has some familiarity with multiple operations.\nUse team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development. \nConduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.\nFinish assigned engineering projects in accordance with customer specifications and within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of engineering team, contractors, and vendors.\nLead brainstorming activities for specific needs.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in engineering or related field\n3+ years of related work experience or training\n6 sigma or FMEA experience a plus\nExcellent analytical and organizational skills; solves complex problems.\nExperience leading Kaizen related or Continuous Improvement Activity \nAbility to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis\nStrong communications via written and oral\nKnowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial\nKnowledge of lean manufacturing techniques\nProficient in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, Power Point and AutoCAD\nExcellent written and oral communication skills. \nUses team management skills to lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development. \nConduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.\nWe Offer\nCompetitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plans which include medical and dental insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, retirement security savings plan, short- and long-term disability programs and tuition assistance.\nADA Statement & EEO Statement\nIn developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
