Lead mentor to the engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion.\nResponsibilities\nProvide technical leadership in the resolution of complex mechanical issues affecting production equipment and plant infrastructure.\nDevelop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies aimed at improving asset reliability and performance.\nConduct failure analyses (Root Cause Analysis) and recommend sustainable corrective actions.\nIdentify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing equipment performance, safety, and equipment life cycle.\nProvide technical support to maintenance teams during complex repairs, troubleshooting activities, and emergency situations.\nAssess equipment condition and recommend repairs, replacements, upgrades, or capital investments as required.\nPrepare technical specifications, scopes of work, engineering documents, and requests for quotations (RFQs) for mechanical projects.\nSupervise contractors and suppliers during equipment installation, repair, modification, and maintenance activities.\nParticipate in the development and management of maintenance and capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets.\nCollaborate with production teams to optimize work methods and improve operational efficiency and performance.\nParticipate in incident investigations and assist in identifying corrective actions when equipment-related issues are involved.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nMember in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).\nMinimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in project management or plant engineering.\nExperience in a heavy manufacturing or continuous production environment.\nStrong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gear reducers, and material handling equipment.\nExperience managing industrial capital projects (CAPEX).\nBilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.\nAdditional Qualifications:\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.\nExperience in contract management and contractor supervision.\nProficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks.\nCertified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) certification\nWe Offer\nCompetitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits plans which include medical and dental insurance, company-sponsored life insurance, retirement security savings plan, short- and long-term disability programs and tuition assistance.\nADA Statement & EEO Statement\nIn developing this job description care was taken to include all competencies needed to successfully perform in this position.
