Our 32,000-square-foot campus now features a wide range of dedicated spaces, including a teen center, athletic field, commercial kitchen, garden, dance studio, recording studio, art gallery, and theater, reflecting our evolution into a vital community hub.\nSUMMARY\nUnder the direction of the Senior Director of Administrative Services the Bus Driver will transport members for A Place Called Home as needed. ThePart Time Bus Driver plays a vital role in supporting A Place Called Home's mission by providing safe, reliable, and positive transportation experiences for youth participating in educational programs, field trips, enrichment activities, and special agency events. More than a driver, this position serves as a trusted representative of APCH, helping create a welcoming and supportive environment where members feel safe, respected, and valued.\nWorking closely with the Transportation Assistant Manager and program staff, the Part Time Bus Driver ensures vehicles are safely operated and well maintained, transportation schedules run efficiently, and all state and agency safety requirements are followed. This role also provides operational support through vehicle inspections, basic administrative assistance, in-kind donation pickups, and collaboration across departments to help deliver exceptional programs and services to youth and families.\nThe ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused professional with excellent customer service and communication skills who enjoys working with young people and is committed to making a meaningful impact in the community.\nEssential duties and responsibilities:\nPick up/drop off students to designated destinations \nTransport members on field trips \nEnsure students and staff adhere to safe transportation practices\nReport any safety or mechanical concerns to the Senior Director of Administrative Services and Transportation Assistant Manager immediately\nEnsure vehicles are kept clean (inside and out)\nFill vehicles with gas as needed\nPlan and monitor routes for maximum efficiency\nCommunicate any delays or changes in schedule with school partners, APCH Membership team members, Senior Director of Administrative Services, Transportation Assistant Manager and any other relevant parties\nProvide administrative assistance to Transportation Coordinator\nPick up in-kind donations as requested \nAdhere to the highest ethical and professional standards and values at all times\nOther Non-Essential Responsibilities\nAssist with the supervision of members during program hours, special events, and field trips\nAttend all required program meetings and events\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and agency events outside of regular business hours, as needed.\nAble to communicate and convey accurate information\nSubmit to Drug and Alcohol testing as required by the state and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCAS)\nSubmit to random alcohol and drug testing as required by the Agency’s Consortium\nEnroll in the Agency’s California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program \nPerform other tasks as assigned\nQualifications\nQualifications\nTo perform this important job successfully, the Bus Driver must be able to fulfill all of the elements of the Job Description to the highest standard, and be able to work well with colleagues in a high energy, collaborative environment with open communications.All employees are expected to contribute to ongoing growth and improvement in their departments via excellent job performance.
