You’ll help organise spare parts, maintain stock levels and order supplies, using spreadsheets and our Maintenance Management systems to keep accurate records. \nAlongside this, you’ll develop your knowledge of machine parts and gain supervised hands-on experience working with the maintenance team around our machinery. The Supply Chain apprenticeship is delivered through Kirklees College; please note that this is not a maintenance engineering apprenticeship.\nKey responsibilities will include:\nKeep machine spare parts correctly stored, labelled and organised so the maintenance team can find what it needs.\nMonitor stock levels, support stock checks and learn to use stock information to identify replenishment needs.\nSupport ordering of spare parts, liaise with suppliers and follow up orders and delivery dates.\nReceive deliveries, check parts against orders and maintain accurate records of goods received and invoices.\nUpdate spreadsheets and Maintenance Management systems accurately, keeping stock and maintenance information current.\nSupport the scheduling of maintenance work and help ensure the necessary parts are available when required.\nWork alongside the maintenance team on supervised practical tasks, learning about machinery and safe working practices.\nHelp solve day-to-day stock and administration problems and suggest improvements to store processes.\nMaintain a tidy, safe store, communicate clearly with colleagues and complete apprenticeship learning activities.\n\nWhat we are looking for:Essential\nGCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above. \nIntermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills, including formatting documents, maintaining spreadsheets, sorting and filtering data and using straightforward formulas.\nStrong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and prioritise routine tasks.\nAn interest in how machinery works and a willingness to learn both practical and supply chain skills.\nClear communication, team approach and the confidence to ask questions and follow up information.\nA commitment to completing apprenticeship training.\nDesirableSome familiarity with stock control, stores, ordering or administration, gained through work, study or other practical activities.\nAn awareness of manufacturing or maintenance environments and an interest in spare parts and equipment.\nExperience using record-keeping or stock systems, or examples of identifying and improving a simple process.\nA-SAFE is a global business with a presence across the USA, Japan, Australia, Europe and the UAE, working with blue-chip names from Coca-Cola and BMW to Amazon and Heathrow.
