Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.\n\nThis position is eligible to earn monthly incentive pay based upon store sales and overall performance.\n\nSchedule: Full-time, 5 days/week - Sundays off every week, plus one other day off based on business needs.\n\nOngoing training, development, and career growth opportunities across AAA’s Car Care network.\n\nPosition Objective: (Basic Purpose of Position)\nThis position is responsible for overseeing all Service Department functions and activities at the Car Care Center, ensuring the effective operation of the store. This role involves engaging in the sale of automotive parts, mechanical and maintenance services, tires, and batteries, while also managing the performance, production, quality, and professional development of Service Advisors and sales associates in alignment with AAA’s standards. This role is tasked with positively influencing customer satisfaction and profitability through the delivery of high-quality, timely service and ensuring strict adherence to AAA Car Care policies and procedures.\n\nMajor Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:\nSupervision and Mentorship:\nSupervises and mentors Repair Technicians, ensuring appropriate work assignments based on skill levels.\n\nAssists in the hiring, evaluation, training, and development of Repair Technicians and Service Advisors.\n\nProvides leadership by exercising firm, fair, and consistent management of all associates.\n\nQuality Control and Repairs:\nVerifies that all repairs and maintenance on vehicles are completed accurately and professionally, following manufacturer guidelines and industry practices. Re-test repaired systems and road test vehicles as needed.\n\nCustomer Communication and Service:\nManages communication between the Car Care Center and customers, ensuring timely updates and accuracy of repair permissions, agreements, and expectations.\n\nAssists Service Advisors and Sales Associates in explaining repair recommendations to customers and obtaining approval for necessary repairs.\n\nOperational Management:\nOrganizes work to maximize efficiency in vehicle movement, parts procurement, and overall job functions.\n\nResponsible for store operations and sales in the absence of the Manager, including creating estimates and work orders and assisting at the sales counter.\n\nOpens and closes the Car Care store, ensuring proper scheduling and management.\n\nCompliance and Safety:\nEnsures continuous implementation of Car Care policies and procedures, including compliance with OSHA, M.A.P., State, and Hazmat regulations.\n\nOversees a clean, well-organized work area and ensures proper maintenance of tools and equipment, including evaluating new equipment and following safety protocols.\n\nAdministrative Duties:\nAccurately completes paperwork including repair information on work orders and state/emission inspection details.\n\nReviews repair orders with Service Advisors and customers to ensure all requested repairs are completed.\n\nMonitors workflow and communicates with Service Advisors and Sales Associates regarding wait times and productivity.\n\nProduct and Service Awareness:\nMaintains specific awareness of automotive products and general awareness of ACA’s offerings to enhance customer experiences and drive repeat business.\n\nAttends automotive meetings and seminars as recommended by management.\n\nJob Requirements/Qualifications (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications):\nHigh school degree or equivalent required. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.\n\nMinimum of 4 years of experience in the automotive repair industry required.\n\nAutomotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.\n\nMust possess and maintain a valid operator’s license.\n\nSatisfactory pre-and post-employment screening results.\n\nKnowledge Skills and Abilities (Those necessary for competent performance of the job):\nEffective organizational and analytical skills.\n\nEffective written and oral communication skills.\n\nAbility to effectively interaction with others.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of PC-based automotive computer equipment and software applications.\n\nDemonstrated ability to respond to customer inquiries and refer customers to the associates who can best assist them with Car Care, Travel, Insurance, Membership, Discounts, Financial Services, and other Retail products.\n\nAbility to adjust work schedule and priorities to meet business needs.\n\nWorking Conditions (Under typical circumstances):\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to an automotive shop environment. The noise level in the work environment may at times be loud. The job requires working with automotive tools and equipment, exposure to changes in temperature, and may involve exposure to dust or fumes.\n\nThe physical requirements of the job are for associates to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and to stand for prolonged periods of time.
