Generates pharmaceutical orders and\nvalidates submission, receive, and stores incoming supplies, adjudicates order when received and ensure payment.\nCoordinates reverse distributor program to obtain reimbursement where appropriate.\nProcesses records of medication and equipment dispensed to patient, computes charges, and enters data.\nPrepares sterile compounds (IV’s) according to USP 797/800 standards.\nEnters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system,\nand inventory.\nCompiles and maintains reports to monitor outdated medication.\nAssists the Lead Pharmacy Technician with the Pharmacy’s point of sale (POS) billing program, including the\nmaintenance and direct total billing operations for Pharmacy programs.\nMaintains current knowledge of and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting areas of\nresponsibility.\nMaintain effective, collaborative interdepartmental and external relations.\nMust comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and\nAccountability Act (HIPAA).\nPerforms/completes all other duties and projects as assigned.\nServes on OHC Committees, Teams, and Workgroups as assigned.\n\nPerforms the core responsibilities of the position accurately, timely, and in accordance with established standards.\nMaintains regular and reliable attendance consistent with the position’s schedule and operational needs.\nCommunicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders as required by the role.\nAdheres to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\nUtilizes required systems, tools, and technology necessary to perform the job.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n Stand for long periods (4-8+ hours)\nPerform repetitive hand/finger movements\nLift anywhere from 20-50 lbs depending on role\nBend, stretch, and reach frequently\nMaintain fine motor control for small objects\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nOne (1) year of pharmacy technician experience preferred.\nRegistration as a Pharmacy Technician with South Dakota State Board of Pharmacy upon hire.\nNational Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) required\nAbility to obtain BLS certification upon hire\nMust successfully pass a criminal and background check and a pre-employment drug screen.\nThe GPTLHB is a tribal organization that follows tribal preference laws.
