Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.\nAbout the role\nThe Buyer is a key member of Aalo Atomics' Supply Chain team, responsible for managing procurement of components, equipment and services critical to our reactor development program. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Program Management to convert purchasing requests into purchase orders (POs), and be the main point of contact with suppliers for all purchase order related issues. This role requires someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities, and skilled at building strong relationships both internally and externally.\nWhat you'll do\nOwn the full purchase order lifecycle - from purchase request through PO receipt.\nIssue purchase requests, analyze quotes, negotiate terms, convert POs, send to suppliers.\nCoordinate logistics with Aalo logistics partners and suppliers\nEnsure shipments come with necessary paperwork for a frictionless receipt process. \nServe as the primary day-to-day contact for a portfolio of suppliers - managing open orders on a daily/weekly basis, resolving discrepancies, and driving continuous improvement.\nMonitor supplier performance against commitments; escalate risks proactively and implement corrective action plans as needed.\nMaintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system - onboard new suppliers, and keep open orders, expected receipt dates, lead times, and commercial terms current.\nCollaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable to ensure on-time payment to suppliers and resolve invoice issues.\nContribute to the development of Supply Chain processes, templates, and tools as the team scales.\nFollow established procurement procedures to satisfy technical specifications and nuclear quality requirements.\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or hardware-development environment.\nDemonstrated experience collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, or other technical teams to understand requirements.\nProven track record of managing open orders, resolving issues, and communicating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.\nFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar); ability to maintain accurate planning data and generate useful reporting.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple open orders and competing priorities simultaneously.\nClear and professional written and verbal communication skills; able to represent the company effectively in supplier-facing interactions.\nHigh attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.\nNice to Have\nExperience in a startup or early-stage hardware company where processes are still being built.\nExposure to nuclear, energy, or highly regulated industries.\nAPICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or working toward one.\nExperience with contract management and supplier agreement execution.\nRequirements:\nBased in the United States\nWilling to work on-site in Austin, TX\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive salary based on technical level\nHealth, Dental, Vision Insurance\nPaid Time Off\nCorporate Gym Membership\nAdditional Information:\nAalo Atomics provides a collaborative and supportive work environment, opportunities for professional growth, intellectually challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
