Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.\nAt a glance\nAnticipated Time Frame: January - May\nWilling to work on-site in Austin, TX\nAbout the role\nThe Licensing Engineering Internsupportslicensing, regulatory strategy, and safety-basisdevelopment for advanced nuclear reactor projects, with emphasis on Non-Light Water Reactors (non-LWRs) and DOE/NRC-regulated facilities.Working under the guidance of experienced licensing engineers,youwillassistwith regulatoryanalysis, safety analysis documentation, and preparation of technical materials that support interactions with theDOE/NRC.\nThisroleprovides hands-on experiencewith nuclear licensing processes, risk-informed safety analysis, and regulatory compliance for advanced reactor technologies.\nWhat you'll do\nLicensing Basis & Methodology \nAssistengineers in developing andmaintainingtheprojectlicensing basis for advanced reactor systems. \nSupport preparation and review of regulatory documentation such as technical reports, licensing submittals, and supporting analysis. \nPerform regulatory research on NRC and DOE requirements. \nSSC Safety Classification & Design Interface \nWork with multidisciplinary engineering teams to gather design information needed for licensing and safety documentation. \nAssistinmaintainingtraceability between design information and theprojectsafety or licensing basis. \nSupport documentation related to the classification of Structures, Systems, and Components (SSCs). \nRisk-Informed Methods Exposure \nAssistengineers in applying risk-informed and performance-based licensing approaches such as the Licensing Modernization Project (NEI 18-04). \nRegulatory Submissions \nPrepareandreview licensing documents and technical reports (PSARs, FSARs, License Amendment Requests, COL/ML/ESP/CP/OL/SDAs as applicable). \nRequired Qualifications\nEducation: Completed bachelor’s degree or will complete by December 2026 in Nuclear Engineering (preferred), Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or closely related engineering/science field.\nTechnical Knowledge: Understanding ofnuclear reactor fundamentals (reactor theory, heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics) and reactor systems. \nSkills: Technical writing and oral communication. Ability to learn complex regulatory and technical requirements. Strong analytical problem-solving ability. Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
