Our mission is to make nuclear energy globally accessible, starting with the Aalo-1, a 10 MWe reactor leveraging cutting-edge safety, modularity, and efficiency. Based in Austin, TX, we’re rapidly growing as we work to deploy the world’s first fleet of advanced microreactors. Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.\nAbout the role\nAalo Atomics is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Manager to lead and scale core supply chain execution capabilities across Receiving, Inventory Control, Materials Storage and Routing, Production Kitting and Point of Use support, and Inbound and Outbound Logistics Operations. This role is responsible for building the systems, processes, and team needed to support reliable material flow, inventory integrity, and operational readiness across operations in Austin and Idaho Falls.\nThis is initially a working manager role. In the near term, the successful candidate will be expected to work hands-on in receiving, material handling, and inventory operations to build deep familiarity with Aalo’s processes, systems, and nuclear quality requirements. However, the long-term expectation for this position is not simply to execute the work directly, but to design, standardize, scale, and lead the operation. This leader will establish robust processes, implement effective controls, develop team capability, and create the operating system that enables the function to perform consistently as the company grows.\nThe role should be viewed primarily as a systems builder and people leader for supply chain operations. While the position includes ownership of day-to-day operational performance, hands-on execution is intended to be transitional as the manager develops expertise, improves processes, and scales the organization.\nThe primary scope of the logistics role is focused on operational execution of inbound and outbound shipments and close coordination with logistics providers and internal stakeholders. Additionally, partner with Supply Chain Managers to provide guidance on strategic supplier management, supplier performance and issue resolution.\nWhat you'll do\n1. Receiving\nLead receiving operations across Austin and Idaho Falls, ensuring incoming materials are received accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures and quality requirements.\nReceive, inspect, and process incoming shipments of parts, components, materials, and equipment against purchase orders, packing slips, and engineering documentation.\nVerify quantities, part numbers, revisions, and condition of all incoming goods, and identify discrepancies, damage, or nonconformances immediately.\nPerform and document incoming inspection steps in accordance with quality procedures, capturing certifications, material test reports, certificates of conformance, and pedigree or traceability documentation.\nRead and review shipment paperwork to ensure deliveries include all required documentation for traceability, certificates of conformance, and material test reports.\nAccurately enter and update inventory records in the ERP or inventory management system, maintaining real-time accuracy across the facility.\nTag, label, and route received materials to inspection, quarantine, stock, or point-of-use as appropriate.\nSegregate and clearly identify nonconforming material, initiating the appropriate quality hold and documentation process.\nCoordinate closely with procurement, quality, and engineering teams to resolve receiving discrepancies and expedite critical materials.\nInventory Control\nLead inventory control processes to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy, transaction discipline, and traceability across supply chain operations.\nMaintain accurate inventory records through disciplined system transactions, timely issue resolution, and strong control of material movements.\nPlan and execute cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation efforts to uphold inventory integrity.\nInvestigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.\nWork closely with Finance to ensure inventory records align with accounting requirements, valuation practices, and reporting expectations.\nSupport audits by maintaining accurate inventory records, transaction histories, and material control documentation.\nDevelop and improve inventory control procedures that support lot control, serialization, status identification, and traceability requirements.\nMaterials Storage and Routing\nLead material handling operations to ensure proper storage, protection, movement, and control of materials throughout the facility.\nMaintain organized, clean, and properly controlled receiving and storage areas, including environmentally controlled and security-controlled storage where required.\nEstablish and improve standard processes for material routing from receiving through inspection, storage, production, and shipping.\nEnsure materials are stored in ways that preserve quality, maintain traceability, and support efficient retrieval and movement.\nDrive strong warehouse discipline and visual control practices to improve space utilization, material flow, and operational reliability.\nHandle materials safely using pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand tools, while ensuring adherence to all safety and material-handling protocols.\nProduction Kitting and Point of Use\nDevelop and oversee production kitting and point-of-use material support processes that enable manufacturing efficiency and material availability.\nEnsure materials are accurately picked, staged, and delivered to the correct point of use in alignment with production needs.\nPartner with Manufacturing, Planning, and Engineering to support material readiness for builds, work orders, and production activities.\nImprove systems and workflows that support reliable replenishment, kit accuracy, and material visibility on the production floor.\nEstablish process controls that reduce shortages, mispicks, transaction errors, and delays in production support.\nInbound and Outbound Logistics Operations\nOversee day-to-day execution of inbound and outbound shipping activities to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective transportation of materials and products.\nCoordinate shipments with carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to support operational priorities.\nSupport development and refinement of logistics processes, tools, and reporting to improve shipment visibility and execution reliability.\nPartner closely with Purchasing and other stakeholders on logistics provider performance, cost issues, and service expectations.\nResolve shipment issues, delays, damages, and claims in coordination with internal teams and external service providers.\nSupport the evolution of logistics operations as the company grows, with the understanding that broader logistics management responsibilities may transition to a dedicated logistics leader over time.\nLeadership and Organizational Development\nBuild and lead the supply chain operations function across Austin and Idaho Falls with a focus on scalable systems, clear roles, and disciplined execution.\nServe as an initially hands-on leader while transitioning the function toward sustainable team-based execution.\nDevelop standard work, operating procedures, training materials, controls, metrics, and management routines for receiving, inventory control, material handling, and logistics operations.\nHire, train, coach, and develop team members who will execute and sustain the operation over time.\nEstablish performance expectations, accountability, and continuous improvement practices across the team.\nPartner cross-functionally with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance to improve end-to-end material flow and operational readiness.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory accuracy, space utilization, and scalability.\nEnsure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and applicable regulatory and quality requirements, including those relevant to nuclear operations.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, engineering, logistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\n5+ years of experience in receiving, warehouse operations, materials management, inventory control, logistics operations, or supply chain operations.\n2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in an operational environment.\nStrong hands-on experience in receiving, material handling, inventory control, and warehouse or stockroom operations.\nExperience using ERP or inventory management systems in a manufacturing or operational environment.\nDemonstrated success improving inventory accuracy, material flow, and process discipline.\nExperience planning and executing cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation activities.\nExperience reviewing receiving documentation, including purchase orders, packing slips, certificates of conformance, and material test reports.\nStrong understanding of material traceability, nonconforming material controls, and documentation discipline in a quality-sensitive environment.\nStrong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance.\nAbility and willingness to work hands-on in receiving, material handling, and warehouse operations during the early stage of the role.\nAbility to travel between or support operations in Austin and Idaho Falls as needed.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in a regulated manufacturing environment such as nuclear, aerospace, defense, medical device, or another highly controlled industry.\nFamiliarity with nuclear quality requirements, pedigree documentation, receiving inspection controls, and traceability requirements.\nExperience building or scaling warehouse, stockroom, or material operations in a high-growth environment.\nExperience supporting production kitting, point-of-use material replenishment, or manufacturing material flow systems.\nExperience supporting inventory-related audit requirements and financial reconciliation.\nForklift certification or ability to obtain certification.\nExperience with lean operations, 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nPhysical / Work Environment Requirements\nAbility to work in warehouse, receiving, and manufacturing environments.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move materials consistent with operational requirements.\nAbility to use pallet jacks, forklifts, and standard material handling tools, subject to training and certification requirements.\nAbility to travel periodically between Austin and Idaho Falls or otherwise support both locations.Requirements:\n\nBased in the United States\nWilling to work on-site in Austin, TX\nWhat We Offer:\nCompetitive salary
