Join us and help revolutionize energy for a sustainable future.\nAbout the role\nAs a Multi-craft Maintenance Technician at Aalo Atomics, you will own the reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement of the critical building and manufacturing systems that keep our factory producing. You will troubleshoot and maintain a broad range of electrical and mechanical systems, lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and serve as the senior technical authority on the floor for facilities issues. This is a hands-on, senior-level role for an experienced generalist with deep electrical and mechanical expertise who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.\nOur multi-craft maintenance program evaluates electrical and mechanical proficiency separately and assigns a skill level in each discipline. Those levels form a combined assessment of each technician's overall skill set. This approach recognizes both technical depth and breadth, guides targeted training and cross-training, and supports continued development and career growth across both crafts.\nWhat you'll do\nTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC equipment, waterjets, automated production equipment, and the building systems that support factory operations.\nDiagnose electrical and mechanical failures across motors, drives, controls, pumps, bearings, power transmission equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.\nDevelop, execute, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs using equipment condition, failure history, and manufacturer recommendations to prioritize work.\nRespond to equipment breakdowns, coordinate recovery with Production and Engineering, and verify safe, reliable operation before returning equipment to service.\nLead root-cause investigations of recurring failures; implement corrective actions and verify their effectiveness in improving uptime, equipment life, and maintainability.\nMaintain industrial utility systems, including compressed air, cooling, ventilation, and electrical distribution, and coordinate specialized work with qualified contractors as needed.\nSupport equipment installation, commissioning, relocation, and factory buildout; identify maintenance access, utility, and spare-parts needs before equipment enters service.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, troubleshooting findings, and work instructions in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).\nIdentify critical spare parts and tooling requirements, and coordinate with suppliers and contractors to reduce downtime and improve service support.\nApply lockout/tagout, electrical safety, machine guarding, and other required safe work practices; identify hazards and perform work within your training, qualifications, and authorization.\nServe as a technical resource for facilities issues, communicate equipment condition and recovery plans clearly, and coordinate maintenance priorities with affected teams.\nMentor technicians, share troubleshooting methods, and support electrical and mechanical skill development through the multi-craft maintenance program.\nBasic Qualifications\n7+ years of facilities, industrial, or plant maintenance experience with demonstrated breadth across both electrical and mechanical systems.\nStrong working knowledge of CNC equipment, waterjets, and automated systems.\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical and mechanical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment manuals.\nProficiency with diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.\nSolid understanding of applicable OSHA requirements, the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA standards including NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout practices.\nStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to work independently.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical reasoning clearly, communicate mission-critical information to technical and nontechnical audiences, and mentor others.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in machining, fabrication, and assembly manufacturing environments.\nHands-on experience troubleshooting electrical distribution, three-phase motors, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), sensors, and industrial control panels.\nExperience troubleshooting programmable logic controller (PLC) systems, interpreting ladder logic, and using human-machine interfaces (HMIs) to diagnose equipment faults.\nTrade certification or licensure, such as a journeyman electrician license.\nExperience maintaining and troubleshooting automated production or robotic equipment and supporting industrial utility systems.\nFamiliarity with CMMS platforms and predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis and thermography.\nExperience supporting a greenfield or major capital-project factory buildout.\nExperience with welding equipment maintenance and repair, welding, fabrication, or millwright work.\nAssociate degree or technical/vocational training in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or a related field.\nPrior experience in a vertically integrated hardware company where teams build what they design.\nPhysical Requirements & Work Environment\nComfortable working on the factory floor and around active machining, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance operations.\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.\nAbility to bend, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and access equipment, utilities, and maintenance areas safely as needed.\nAbility and willingness to use required personal protective equipment and work in environments with elevated noise, heat, fumes, and moving equipment.\nWillingness to travel occasionally to supplier facilities, test sites, and Aalo's reactor site in Idaho.\nWhat It Takes to Succeed at Aalo\nWe're building technology that will help reshape the future of energy.
