In parallel, we apply our data and models directly with select partners to engineer next-generation dual-specific and molecular glue therapeutics, and to discover and optimize differentiated biologics.\nThis role is not open to remote applicants and would require relocation to Seattle, WA.\nStarting Salary Range: $94,000 - $117,000 annually\nExemption Status: Exempt\nLocation Expectations: Hybrid (1-3 onsite days per week)\nReporting To: Senior Alliance Manager\nRole Description\nA-Alpha Bio is seeking an Alliance Manager II to support the execution and success of external scientific and strategic partnerships. This is a heavily cross-functional role with a significant external-facing component. Successful candidates will have exceptional communication and organizational skills, comfort navigating scientific and operational complexity, and the ability to foster productive working relationships. \nKey Responsibilities\nServe as day-to-day liaison between the company and assigned external partners, providing clear, consistent communication and alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables, both internally and externally.\nCoordinate closely with internal scientific leads and functional teams to support execution of partnership workplans.\nPrepare and circulate meeting agendas, materials, and meeting minutes for joint governance meetings, technical updates, and ad hoc partner discussions.\nTrack partnership obligations, milestones, and decision points; flag risks, misalignments, or emerging issues to senior commercial leadership.\nSupport interpretation and execution of collaboration agreements, including scope changes, data-sharing provisions, and reporting requirements, in coordination with other commercial team members.\nContribute to the preparation of SOWs, partner reports, updates, and presentations that clearly communicate progress, challenges, and next steps.\nCommunicate status, changes, and forecasts to the Leadership Team.\nFoster positive, professional relationships with partner teams, promoting trust, transparency, and productive collaboration.\nContribute to continuous improvement of alliance management processes, templates, and best practices. \nQualifications & Experience\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in a related scientific or business field with 5+ years of experience supporting external partnerships in the life sciences; PhD in a related scientific or business field; or an equivalent combination of education or experience.\nDemonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific or operational information clearly.\nHigh level of organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.\nComfort operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with cross-functional scientific and business teams. \nPreferred\nAdvanced degree (Master’s and/or PhD) in a scientific discipline.\nMBA degree.\nSpecific experience in alliance management, project management, or scientific program management.\nExperience in drug discovery, protein science, genomics, machine learning, biologics, large datasets, and/or computational biology. \nIn 2018, A-Alpha Bio spun out of the University of Washington’s Institute for Protein Design and Center for Synthetic Biology - both communities filled with brilliant and highly entrepreneurial scientists.
