This is a senior advisory and hands-on architecture role for someone with deep experience in cloud platform engineering, IT automation, AIOps, and product infrastructure at scale.\nAArete’s US-based infrastructure lead has extensive knowledge of the company’s existing environment, systems, and healthcare data operations. What we need from this role is a highly experienced partner who brings a wealth of experience in cloud architecture best practices, production-grade automation, AIOps implementation, and product development infrastructure that the team hasn’t had the opportunity to build yet. You will advise, co-design, and build alongside the US lead.\nThis role spans all AArete cloud platforms and future product offerings. You will bring external perspective and depth to an environment that is rapidly evolving from a consulting-driven delivery model to a product-oriented engineering organization.\nYou will work as part of a globally distributed team spanning the US, UK, and India. You will be expected to collaborate daily with US-based engineers, architects, and leadership across time zones.\nWork You’ll Do\nCloud Architecture Advisory & Co-Design\nPartner with the US-based Cloud & Infrastructure Lead to evaluate, design, and evolve AArete’s AWS cloud architecture across all AArete platforms\nBring external best practices in cloud-native architecture, multi-environment management, and infrastructure scalability that the team can adopt and implement\nAdvise on Terraform module design, state management patterns, environment promotion strategies, and drift detection at scale\nCo-design infrastructure for new product builds, ensuring architectures are production-grade, scalable, and maintainable from day one\nEvaluate and recommend new AWS services and capabilities as the platform evolves (e.g., Bedrock, Textract, Step Functions, SageMaker endpoints, EventBridge)\nAIOps & Intelligent Automation\nLead the design and implementation of AIOps capabilities: intelligent monitoring, anomaly detection, predictive alerting, automated remediation, and workload optimization using AWS-native services\nArchitect self-healing infrastructure patterns: automated scaling, failure recovery, drift correction, and proactive incident prevention\nDesign intelligent cost optimization frameworks: automated warehouse scheduling, storage tiering, reserved capacity management, and spend anomaly detection\nExplore and implement AI-assisted operations using AWS Bedrock or similar services for operational intelligence, log analysis, and predictive infrastructure management\nBring proven patterns from prior experience to accelerate AArete’s automation maturity\nProduct Infrastructure & DevOps Maturity\nAdvise on CI/CD pipeline architecture and deployment strategies across Bitbucket, AWS, and related tooling\nBring product development infrastructure experience: release management, feature flagging, environment provisioning, and deployment automation at a product (not project) cadence\nHelp evolve the team’s DevOps practices from consulting-delivery patterns to product-engineering standards\nContribute to the design and enforcement of deployment standards: branching strategies, automated testing gates, rollback procedures, and release governance\nSecurity, Compliance & Operational Excellence\nMaintain sprint boards, release plans, and delivery roadmaps in Jira\nAdvise on security architecture and compliance posture across all environments (HIPAA, BAA, PHI handling)\nReview and improve IAM policies, encryption patterns, VPC design, and access control frameworks\nContribute to monitoring and observability strategy using CloudWatch, Grafana, SNS, and custom dashboards\nSupport disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and business continuity procedures\nConduct periodic architecture reviews and recommend hardening measures\nKnowledge Sharing & Mentorship\nServe as a technical sounding board and mentor to the US-based team\nOther duties as assigned\nRequirements\n10+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps architecture, or site reliability engineering experience\nDeep expertise in AWS: architecture design, multi-account strategies, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, CloudWatch, IAM, MWAA, VPC, API Gateway, EventBridge, Systems Manager, and networking\nExpert-level proficiency with Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tooling at scale (module libraries, state management, workspace strategies, CI/CD-driven infrastructure deployment)\nDemonstrated experience designing and implementing AIOps or intelligent automation solutions: anomaly detection, auto-remediation, predictive alerting, and workload optimization\nStrong background in cloud automation: auto-scaling, self-healing patterns, scheduled operations, and cost optimization at scale\nExperience supporting production product infrastructure (not just project-based consulting environments) understanding of release cadence, uptime requirements, and platform reliability at a product level\nProficiency in scripting and automation: Python, Bash, or both\nSolid understanding of security and compliance in AWS: IAM architecture, encryption, VPC design, audit logging, and regulatory frameworks\nExperience with monitoring and observability at scale (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or equivalent)\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate as a technical peer with US-based engineers and leadership\nExperience working in globally
