Set a new pulse for healthcare!

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to join the AI Lab team at Doctolib.

This is an opportunity to become the person who makes a new European clinical AI research lab work, from the inside, at an early stage.

The AI Lab is tackling long-horizon, high-stakes questions at the intersection of clinical AI, patient modelling, causal inference, calibration, privacy, and real-world evaluation, with access to one of Europe's largest longitudinal EHR datasets.

You will be the operational backbone of a rapidly growing lab, combining research scientists, data scientists, research engineers, PhD students, and research affiliates. Your role is to build and manage the processes, interfaces, and infrastructure that let researchers focus on research, within a product company operating at European scale, with real patients and clinicians on the other side of every decision.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own the operating model. Design and run the Lab's core processes from the ground up: portfolio management, roadmap tracking, async documentation, and decision-making cadence. Where a task recurs, build a process.

  • Connect research and product. Understand both the Lab's projects and product teams' roadmaps well enough to propose concrete collaborations and follow them through. Lead recurring interfaces such as the bi-annual DS-Research workshop and monthly research on-sites, with agendas set in advance and pre-reads produced and read before the meeting.

  • Filter and triage inbound. Manage partnership proposals, collaboration requests, and internal asks: answering or redirecting most, escalating only what merits researcher time.

  • Track dependencies to resolution. Own operational blockers (data access, compute, contracts, academic collaboration administration) and drive them to closure with the relevant teams. For example: run a CIFRE application through the university, the doctoral school, and the ANRT fast enough that the intern starts the PhD without a gap.

  • Run hiring logistics. Interface with Talent Acquisition to keep the pipeline moving: scheduling, candidate communication, process documentation, scorecard templates. Researchers keep the assessments.

  • Map the ecosystem. Maintain a live view of labs, companies, and institutions working on adjacent topics; prepare targeting decisions for partnerships, workshops, and data challenges. Lead the first data challenge end to end, from platform setup and legal clearance to participant communication.

  • Move information in both directions. Collect what the Lab needs from product, data, medical, legal, and people teams; report the Lab's scientific outputs, programme health, and critical risks to the company with clarity and precision.

Who you are

Before you read on: if you don't have the exact profile described below but feel this job description matches your skill set, we still encourage you to apply.

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Have at least 5 years of experience in programme management, research operations, or a comparable high-complexity role, ideally within an AI, engineering, scientific, or product environment

  • Have a demonstrated ability to design and run processes from scratch, coordinate multiple workstreams across specialist teams, and hold a portfolio of priorities, dependencies, risks, and milestones with rigour

  • Are able to influence senior stakeholders and expert teams without formal authority, and follow unresolved items until they are resolved

  • Communicate with clarity and economy: you can make complex topics actionable for non-technical audiences and precise for technical ones

  • Have enough understanding of machine learning to follow research discussions, judge which requests merit researcher time, and translate the team's goals for the rest of the company; deep domain expertise can be learned on the job

  • Are fluent in English; working French is required, as academic-administration processes (CIFRE, ANRT, doctoral schools) run in French

It would be fantastic if you:

  • Have operated as Chief of Staff to a CTO, VP Engineering, Research Director, or Head of AI, or as a Research Operations Manager in an AI lab, university, hospital, or industrial research organisation

  • Are familiar with academic-industry collaborations, CIFRE, PhD programmes, grants, or data challenges

  • Have experience with clinical AI, healthtech, model evaluation, AI safety, privacy, or data governance
