Are you driven to achieve results and meet goals? AARP Delaware seeks an intern who can demonstrate strong communication and writing skills for traditional and social communications and who wants to learn more about applying those skills to the conversation about aging. As an intern, you will gain hands-on knowledge about issues around caregiving, livable communities, fraud and scams, and many other issues affecting the 50+ population in Delaware. You will work in the community, supporting outreach and communications in the state office. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Fall 2026 and will run through the end of the year, with the possibility of extending additional semesters.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide social media support by creating compelling content to amplify external releases, events, and other opportunities\nSupport the creation of video content, including identifying stock photos\nAssist in writing and proofreading internal communications, such as newsletters and emails\nSupport volunteer engagement for advocacy, community outreach, and communication activities\nSupport and help manage impactful virtual and in-person events across the state\nAssist in maintaining the state office event schedule using AARP tools\nSupport in-person event setup, including preparing all collateral materials, giveaways, and necessary supplies\nPost state events on AARP platforms such as Cvent, LEAP, and others as required\nQualifications:\nMust be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university, rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students, and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship \nSkilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)\nProficient in using various technological tools, including cameras, microphones, lights, tablets, smartphones, and content creation software such as Animoto, Clipchamp, and Canva a plus\nExcellent research and writing skills; keen proofreading skills\nKnowledgeable in using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok \nMust have reliable transportation\nAARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.\nAdditional Requirements\nRegular and reliable job attendance\nExhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships\nIndependent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions\nIn office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise\nAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds\nHybrid Work Environment\nAARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates.
