We are looking for a top-notch rising third-year or advanced degree law student with a passion for litigation to work with us to end senior poverty. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Summer 2027.\nWE SEEK SOMEONE WHO:\nhas strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in public service\nis smart, ambitious, and intellectually curious\nis a diligent researcher and an excellent writer\nis offended by injustice and wants to do something about it\nResponsibilities:\nWorking under the supervision of AARP Foundation attorneys, you will:\nConduct legal research\nDraft memoranda, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents\nAssist in civil discovery\nInterview current and potential clients\nWork with outside co-counsel\nParticipate in litigation strategy\nQualifications:\nRising third-year or advanced degree (e.g., L.L.M.) law student at the start of the internship (Summer 2027)\n When submitting your application, please include your resume, cover letter, and a writing sample in a single document\nExcellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills\nProficiency with WESTLAW and other legal research platforms\nSignificant experience with The Blue Book: A Uniform System of Citation\nDemonstrated public interest/public service interest or experience\nIn-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise\nAARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.\nAARP Foundation Litigation summer interns work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10-12 weeks (typically June-August).
