Discovers the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommends alternative technical approaches. Partners with cross-functional technical teams to launch projects and provide ongoing technical support. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline technology processes and develop new procedures that support the business\nunit/department.\nResponsibilities:\nEstablishes a technical roadmap for the platform and/or capability strategy and lifecycle that considers value-based outcomes, costs to maintain, supportability, and performance.\nEnsures sound integration, data, security, and business architecture design throughout all stages within the platform and/or capability lifecycle.\nProvides rapid delivery and development of technical solutions that align with business and/or platform desired outcomes. Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to platform or capability systems, solutions, and services.\nKnowledge of networking, identity access management, and information security tools.\nInnovates and drives continuous improvements of implementation methodology and technical service offerings based on customer/employee experiences or other enterprise objectives/outcomes.\nParticipates in a Community of Interest for engineers across all capability and platform teams to share information and strengthen understanding of business needs and technology-based business solutions.\nDevelops and maintains deep technical knowledge and expertise related to domain area systems, solutions, services, and applications.\nQualifications:\n7+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience in native mobile application development.\nDeep expertise in iOS or Android native development, with working knowledge of the other mobile platform.\nStrong proficiency in Swift/Objective-C or Java/Kotlin, with experience designing and building large-scale, complex, testable mobile applications.\nExperience leading mobile technical roadmaps, architectural reviews, and technology modernization initiatives.\nStrong understanding of mobile application security, authentication and authorization, secure data storage, performance, scalability, and maintainability.\nExperience developing mobile applications that integrate with cloud-based services and APIs, preferably AWS.\nAbility to provide technical leadership and mentor mobile engineers through design reviews, code reviews, debugging, and engineering best practices.\nAARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.\nAdditional Requirements\nRegular and reliable job attendance\nEffective verbal and written communication skills\nExhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships\nIndependent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions\nIn office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise\nHybrid Work Environment\nAARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions.
