strengthen\nexecutive positioning.\noDraft or coordinate executive social media content, opinion\npieces, commentaries, forewords and other thought-leadership products.\noMonitor relevant global developments and identify issues on which\nsenior leadership should communicate or engage.\noWork with communications colleagues to connect executive\nvisibility with broader institutional campaigns and priorities.\n3.Research and\nStrategic Briefing\nProvide high-quality research and analysis to underpin executivecommunications.\n\noConduct rapid research on policy, scientific, political, economic\nand institutional issues relevant to leadership engagements.\noDistill complex information into clear, decision-useful briefs and\nmessages.\noVerify facts, statistics, quotations and references used in\nexecutive communications.\noWork with technical experts across the organization to ensure\nscientific accuracy while maintaining accessible and compelling language.\noMaintain relevant background materials, key messages,\norganizational facts and evidence for executive use.\n4.Major Events and\nHigh-Level Convenings\nProvide communications and substantive preparation for majorinternational events, leadership meetings and strategic convenings.\n\noDevelop executive communications packages for major conferences,\nsummits, bilateral meetings, donor engagements and organizational events.\noPrepare speeches, talking points, session briefs, participant\nprofiles, anticipated questions and background materials.\noSupport development of the strategic narrative and leadership\nobjectives for priority events.\noCoordinate with events, media, digital and program teams before,\nduring and following major engagements.\noIdentify opportunities to extend the impact of executive\nparticipation through media, digital communications and follow-up engagement.\n5.Internal\nLeadership Communications\nSupport clear and consistent communication between seniorleadership and staff.\n\noDraft CEO and senior leadership messages to staff, including\norganizational updates, strategic announcements and communications around\nsignificant institutional developments.\noSupport preparation for staff meetings, town halls, leadership\nforums and other internal engagements.\noHelp maintain consistency between internal and external leadership\nmessaging.\noAdvise on tone, sequencing and communication approaches for\nsensitive or complex organizational issues.\n6.Coordination\nAcross Communications\nEnsure executive communications are integrated with theorganization’s wider communications program.\n\noWork closely with corporate, regional, program and project\ncommunications teams to identify priorities, evidence, stories and\nopportunities for executive engagement.\noCoordinate with media, digital, events, publications and creative\nteams to maximize the impact of leadership communications.\noEnsure executive messaging reflects organizational strategy,\npositioning and brand.\noMaintain effective workflows for commissioning, reviewing and\napproving executive communications.\noBuild strong working relationships with technical experts and\nleadership offices across the organization.\n7.Editorial\nQuality and Executive Voice\nMaintain exceptional editorial standards across all executivecommunications.\n\noEnsure communications are concise, compelling, accurate,\naudience-appropriate and aligned with organizational priorities.\noMaintain a recognizable and authentic executive voice across\nspeeches, correspondence, presentations and digital channels.\noApply rigorous editorial quality control, including fact-checking,\nconsistency and appropriate use of evidence.\noTranslate technical and scientific language into accessible\nnarratives without compromising accuracy.\noDevelop and maintain executive messaging, style and voice guidance\nwhere appropriate.\nRequirements\nAdvanced degree in communications, journalism, internationalrelations, public policy, environmental studies or another relevant discipline,\nor equivalent professional experience.\n\n5-10+ years of progressively responsible communicationsexperience, including substantial experience supporting executives or senior\nleaders.\n\nExceptional English-language writing and editing skills, withdemonstrated ability to write effectively for senior executives.\n\nProven experience producing speeches, talking points, executivebriefs, presentations and high-level correspondence.\n\nExperience working on international policy, development, science,environment or related issues strongly
