Founded in 1964, ASM provides HVAC installation, service, maintenance, and mechanical solutions for commercial and industrial facilities.\nPosition Summary\nASM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimatorwith a strong background in commercial HVAC and mechanical contracting. This is a key role for an experienced estimator who can independently manage the estimating process and deliver accurate, competitive, and profitable bids with minimal training.\nThe ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, mechanical construction, estimating, takeoffs, project costs, and margins, along with established relationships with vendors and subcontractors. This position is fully onsite at Kenilworth, NJ.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare accurate estimates, quotes, and bid proposalsfor commercial HVAC and mechanical projects.\nReview drawings, specifications, and bid documents and perform detailed equipment and piping takeoffs.\nConduct site visits, project walk-downs, and bid walksto evaluate scope and field conditions.\nObtain and analyze pricing from vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.\nDevelop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs and establish appropriate project margins.\nMaintain and leverage strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients.\nManage multiple bids and ensure proposals are accurate, competitive, and submitted on time.\nFollow up on bids and work with management and clients throughout the bidding process.\nIdentify scope gaps, cost risks, and opportunities for value engineering or cost savings.\nQualifications\n7+ years of mechanical/HVAC estimating experience preferred.\nMust have experience with a commercial mechanical or HVAC contractor.\nStrong understanding of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, piping, pumps, controls, and related equipment.\nProven experience performing accurate mechanical drawing takeoffsfor equipment and piping.\nStrong understanding of labor, material, subcontractor pricing, project costs, and margins.\nEstablished relationships with mechanical vendors and subcontractorspreferred.\nAbility to independently manage estimates from initial bid review through submission and follow-up.\nStrong attention to detail, organization, communication, and negotiation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and mechanical estimating/takeoff software.\nField HVAC/mechanical
