DevOps Engineer

Job Purpose

To research new technology trends and implement CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, automated configuration management, and automated deployment solutions for projects, improving the development lifecycle within the Digital Team; to establish and configure monitoring systems that detect errors in systems and applications and send alerts to relevant teams for timely corrective action before customer complaints occur; and to support infrastructure security and compliance efforts to ensure digital banking systems remain reliable, secure, and protected.

Responsibilities

• Enhance existing automated configurations for all projects to improve deployment efficiency and consistency.
• Improve the stability and flexibility of existing automated configurations to support dynamic project requirements.
• Implement automation configurations and deployment processes for new projects to ensure efficient and standardized delivery.
• Consult on and provide system/application architecture and technology recommendations for new projects and enhancements to existing projects.
• Ensure the Bank’s technical issues are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner to minimize operational impact.
• continuously improve the initiatives for CI/CD processes and supporting technologies to enhance delivery performance.
• Provide and maintain automation platforms to support efficient development and deployment processes.
• Develop and maintain system and application integrations to support business and operational requirements.
• Configure proxies and web applications to route web traffic based on defined rules and requirements.
• Set up and maintain monitoring platforms, dashboards, and alerting mechanisms for servers, services, cyberattacks, and abnormal data traffic to ensure system availability and security.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to standardize and version-control environment provisioning.
• Support vulnerability assessments and security patching activities in coordination with the Security Team to strengthen system security and compliance.
• Develop and maintain architecture documentation and environment diagrams to support effective governance, maintenance, and knowledge sharing.
• Research new tools and technologies to improve team capabilities and operational effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry trends, security vulnerabilities, and regulatory requirements, and incorporate them into DevOps practices.
• Resolve tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in DevOps, Systems Administration, Infrastructure Support, or a related area.
• Experience in configuring, integrating, deploying, and supporting applications and systems.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevOps practices.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, including routing, gateways, proxies, and load balancing.
• Experience in deploying monolithic and microservices-based applications.
• Knowledge of containerization and container orchestration technologies.
• Proficiency in command-line administration and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of operating systems and system behavior.
• Experience with cloud computing environments and services.
• Good understanding of CI/CD tools, methodologies, and best practices.
• Knowledge of configuration management, monitoring, and automation tools.
• Basic understanding of programming, application build, testing, debugging, and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI DSS).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to service quality and continuous improvement.
