Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.\nThe work model for the role is # LI - Onsite.\nThis role is contributing to the to the Process Automation business in Energy Industries division based in Bangalore, India.\nYour role and responsibilities\nDevelop and implement ongoing DCS system security strategies and engineering application standards. Apply knowledge of security standards such as IEC 62443/ISA 99, NIST SP 800-82, or NERC CIP.\nDefine, design, and implement enterprise cybersecurity solutions to safeguard against advanced threats in diverse environments. Work with firewalls, networking systems, and IDS/IPS technologies.\nDemonstrate a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles such as defense-in-depth, network segmentation, security monitoring, incident response, access management, OT patch management, and secure remote access.\nThink with a security-first mindset and apply expertise in OT environments, corporate application access control, network routing, packet analysis, and cyber threat analysis.\nPossess strong knowledge of application architecture, development, and secure coding practices.\nSupport project teams in security implementation, design reviews, and direct contract-related tasks. Develop and document global standards and tools for control system engineers. Establish standards for IT asset and control network monitoring.\nCollaborate with sales and marketing teams to design customized technical solutions and create supporting materials. Contribute to proposals by estimating hours and equipment requirements. Support business development efforts by certifying new cybersecurity controls.\nProvide training to technical teams and stay updated on networking and control system products (e.g., System 800xA, Symphony Plus) to apply cybersecurity technologies effectively. Install, integrate, and demonstrate practical knowledge of networking components, servers, and client systems.\nGain experience with managed switches, firewalls, network analysis tools (e.g., Forescout), network monitoring systems (e.g., Nozomi), and SIEM platforms (e.g., QRadar, Splunk, LogRhythm).\nQualifications for the role\nEngineering degree with experience in networking or cybersecurity.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\nProficient documentation skills to create clear and consistent guidelines and customer materials.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.\nWillingness to travel as required.\nThis role offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise in cybersecurity while contributing to ABB’s innovative control system solutions.\nMore about us\nABB Energy Industries enabling safe, smart and sustainable projects and operations for businesses across the oil, gas, chemicals, life sciences, power generation and water sectors.
