Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nCategory Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to support regional/global sourcing initiatives either under the leadership of a regional/global Category Manager or independently if under a defined threshold. Each day, you will purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring the purchase activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures.\nThis role is contributing to the {Primary Switchgear/EL/ELDS/Procurement}in {Xiamen, China}. Main stakeholders are {Procurement Manager}.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nExecuting daily sourcing activities and managing supplier performance to support business objectives and operational continuity.\nSupporting the resolution of critical issues concerning supplier quality, delivery and service together with cross-functional teams.\nSupporting the development and implementation of regional/global sourcing strategies in close alignment with the regional/global category leader.\nLeading commercial negotiating with key suppliers, and periodically renewing price lists and terms and conditions.\nRunning market benchmark studies for the Category team and for specific sourcing initiatives to ensure cost competitiveness.\nImplementing cost-reduction programs and optimizing procurement efficiency by improving lead time, quality, and supply chain resilience.\nOnboarding new suppliers, conducting regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality and delivery requirements are met.\nOur team dynamics \nYou will join a {dynamic, talented, high performing}team, where you will be able to thrive.\nQualifications for the role\nBachelor’s degree or above in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related fields\n5+ years of procurement experience in chemicals, plastics, and insulation materials; prior experience with epoxy resin, instrument transformers, insulation components, and electrical plastic components is highly preferred \nDemonstrated capability in supplier development, cost analysis and negotiation, category strategy, and risk management \nStrong communication, execution, and cross-functional collaboration capability in a matrix organization\nSelf-motivated, results-driven with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and data analytics tools is required\nFluent in English; occasional domestic business travel required\nMore about us\nABB is a technology-based provider of power and automation products, systems, solutions and services.
