That's our story. Make it your story.\nYour role and responsibilities\nYou will be Responsible for being an interface between Procurement and Engineering team. Each day, you will drive procurement knowledge (market, suppliers, external intelligence) into the development process to optimize engineering cost, quality, and technology. You will also showcase your expertise by translating engineering requests into procurement parameters for execution.\nThe work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite\nThis role is contributing to the Smart Buildings in Bangalore. Main stakeholders are Procurement, Engineering, Quality & R&D Function\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDevelop and implement local sourcing strategies to meet business targets while supporting regional and global sourcing initiatives.\nManage Division SCM budgets, monitor KPIs, and coordinate with Global Commodity Managers to support cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability objectives.\nIdentify cost-effective suppliers, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and collaborate with Engineering on technical changes and their commercial impact.\nManage supplier development, RFQ evaluations, commercial negotiations, and long-term contract finalization in coordination with cross-functional teams.\nCoordinate supplier audits, ensure closure of non-conformities, maintain reports as per ABB standards, and comply with health, safety, environmental, and business ethics requirements.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management.\nPractical experience in plastic molding, high-speed metal stamping, and sheet metal cabinets.\nExperience in Low Voltage products such as MCB, RCCB, MCCB, and ACB.\nExtensive costing, negotiation, lean process, and supplier management skills.\nProficiency in MS Excel, SAP MM, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement.\nExperience in New Product Development (NPD), Gate Model, Agile methodology, and end-to-end product lifecycle management.\nAbility to collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to advance innovation, ensure product quality, and meet project timelines\nMore about us\nABB Smart Buildings enables optimization of energy efficiency, safety, security and comfort for any building type, through new installations or retrofit solutions.
