Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nSenior Contract Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the provision of contract management services within the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring that all contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant corporate/division/business policies and procedures, as well as the Contract Management Policy and Contract Management Framework. Each day, you will ensure that the portfolio of contracts in the business follows contract and claim management methodologies in accordance with internal standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by reviewing and commenting on commercial and technical tender terms and conditions.\nThe work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid\nThis role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions in North America.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nProposal Team & Front-End Negotiations\nAttend weekly proposal team meetings to represent the contract management perspective on commercial terms and conditions.\n\nSupport front-end negotiations with customers and vendors on contractual language, pricing structures, payment terms, and scope definitions.\n\nChange Order & Notices Support\nVerify change order documentation for completeness and compliance with contract procedures.\n\nManage the notices process - monitor, log, and route all contractual notices (claims, delays, disputes, insurance events) to appropriate stakeholders.\n\nProject Execution & Risk Identification\nAttend weekly Project Manager team meetings and monthly project reviews to maintain visibility on project status and emerging issues.\n\nClaims & Entitlements Support\nAssist in preparing claim notifications, supporting documentation, and correspondence under the direction of the Senior Contract Manager. Log and track variations, delays, and events that may give rise to claims.\n\nCollect and organize claim-related documentation for the claims repository.\n\nCompliance & Reporting\nEstablish documentation discipline across project teams to track all risk events, scope changes, delays, and external dependencies.\n\nGuide Project Managers in documenting schedule impacts and customer-caused delays to create audit trails supporting back charge claims and legal defenses.\n\nMonitor contract compliance, track schedule deviations, preserve documentation for claim defense, and ensure subcontract requirements flow down and are met.\n\nSupplier & Subcontract Management\nSupport drafting of purchase orders and subcontracts with appropriate flow-down terms.\n\nTrack subcontractor performance and flag issues to the Senior Contract Manager.\n\nQualifications for the role\nBS in Engineering, Business, or related field.\n\n3-7 years of experience in contracts, project management, and commercial roles.\n\nFamiliarity with contract management tools and document control systems.\n\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n\nExcellent written communication skills - ability to draft clear contractual correspondence and notices.\n\nExcellent written communication skills - ability to draft clear contractual correspondence and notices.\n\nWillingness to travel occasionally to project sites (~20%).\n\nWorking knowledge of ABB or similar industrial/EPC project environments is a plus.\n\nCandidates must already have authorization to work in the US.\n\nWhy ABB?\nWhat's in it for you\nWe empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
