Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nIS Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities\nWe are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to strengthen our Data & AI capabilities within ABB Motion Drive Products and High Power Drives.\nIn this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing and continuously improving enterprise data solutions, with Snowflake as our primary data platform. You will work across the data engineering lifecycle, from source system integration and data modeling to developing scalable data pipelines, reusable data structures and production-ready data solutions.\nData Engineer takes technical ownership of data engineering implementations, contributes to data platform development and architecture, and helps establish common engineering practices that enable reliable, high-quality data for business analytics, reporting and AI applications.\nYou will join a skilled IT team and collaborate closely with Data Architects, Data Platform Owners, Data Owners, Data Analysts and business stakeholders across our global organization.\nThe role is based in either Helsinki, Finland, or Tallinn, Estonia. We offer a hybrid work model; however, the role requires regular on-site work at our offices in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, or Jüri, Tallinn.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nData Engineering & Development\nDesign, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance data solutions using Snowflake as the primary data platform\nOptimize Snowflake workloads for performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency\nData Modeling & Architecture\nDesign and implement logical and physical data models, including dimensional models and reusable enterprise data structures\nTranslate complex business requirements into scalable technical designs and data models\nContribute to common data models, reusable data products and enterprise data architecture standards\nData Integration & Platform Development\nDesign and implement robust data integrations across enterprise applications, databases, APIs and cloud storage services\nContribute to the continuous improvement of data platform capabilities, engineering frameworks and development standards\nEnsure data quality, traceability, reliability and appropriate security controls throughout the data lifecycle\nDevOps, Automation & Release Management\nImplement and maintain Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes\nDevelop monitoring, logging, error handling and data quality validation mechanisms for production data solutions\nSupport production operations and ensure solutions are maintainable, well-documented and aligned with established platform standards\nQualifications for the role\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering or a related field\n5+ years of relevant hands-on data engineering experience, including substantial experience developing solutions on Snowflake\nStrong experience in data modeling, including relational, dimensional, logical and physical data model design\nProven experience designing and developing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data from multiple enterprise source systems\nGood programming skills in Python for data engineering, automation and integration\nExperience with Microsoft Azure cloud data services, particularly Azure Data Lake Storage\nExperience with Git, CI/CD practices, automated deployments and software engineering principles, preferably using Azure DevOps\nGood English communication skills; Finnish or Estonian language skills are considered an advantage\nValid working permit to Finland or Estonia\nConsidered an advantage\nExperience with additional enterprise data platforms such as Databricks or Microsoft Fabric\nExperience with enterprise data governance, metadata management, data lineage and data product development\nExperience developing data solutions for manufacturing, industrial operations or global enterprise environments\nMore about us\nABB Drive Products serves the industries and infrastructure segments with world-class drives and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
