Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis Position reports to:\nR&D Team LeadYour role and responsibilities:\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.\nThe work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid\nThis role is contributing to the Motion Business High Power Division, Bangalore, India\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nProven experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers and fostering technical growth within teams.\n\nTechnical leadership in design discussions, architecture reviews, and project planning activities.\n\nStrong capability to drive engineering best practices, coding standards, and software quality initiatives.\n\nExperienced in cross-functional collaboration with product management, system architects, QA, and customer-facing teams.\n\nExcellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities for complex system-level challenges.\n\nOwnership mindset with a demonstrated ability to lead projects from requirements through deployment and production support.\n\nQualifications for the role :\nBachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science, electronics or electrical engineering, or related field with 10-13 years of experience with expert level knowledge in programming with C++, particularly C++ 17 & CMake.\n\nIntermediate level knowledge in programming with python.\n\nExperience in Embedded Linux or Yocto based Linux distributions with solid understanding of concepts of bootloaders, kernel modules and cross compilation.\n\nExperience working with Linux based software development environment including familiarity with Linux command line, file system hierarchy, and shell scripting.\n\nGood understanding of computer networking basics such as DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Subnets etc.\n\nGood knowledge in IoT protocols such as MQTT and networking protocols such as HTTP, TCP/IP and experience working with IOT devices.\n\nGood understanding of cyber security best practices.\n\nExcellent problem solving and debugging skills and Ability to mentor and lead fellow team members.\n\nMore about us :\nABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes.
