You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.\nWe are seeking motivated college interns to join our Electrical Proposal and Sales Support team in Houston, TX. This internship provides hands-on experience in developing technical and commercial proposals for electrification and power management system solutions serving the power, water, oil and gas, and industrial markets. This role will collaborate with experienced proposal engineers, sales specialists, and subject matter experts to support real-world customer opportunities, prepare technical documentation, analyze project requirements, and develop competitive bid strategies. This role offers valuable exposure to industry-leading technologies, and the proposal development process that helps deliver innovative solutions to customers worldwide.\nThe work model for the role is hybrid in Houston, TX.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nCollaborate with sales, proposal, engineering, and project teams to support electrical distribution and power management system opportunities across power, water, oil and gas, and industrial markets.\nAssist in the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and bid documentation for electrical and power management solutions.\nSupport the review of customer specifications, single-line diagrams, and project requirements to help develop compliant and competitive solutions.· \nUtilize engineering and business software tools to perform technical evaluations, cost analyses, and proposal development activities. \nConduct technical research and gather product, application, and market data to support customer proposals and sales strategies. \nAssist in developing solution architectures for power management systems, electrical distribution equipment, monitoring systems, and digital energy solutions. \nLeverage AI tools and emerging technologies to improve proposal quality, streamline workflows, and enhance sales support processes. \nExplore and apply digital and artificial intelligence solutions to support customer value propositions and business development initiatives.· \nAttend classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions to develop technical, commercial, and professional skills.· \nDocument proposal assumptions, technical clarifications, scope descriptions, and customer communications accurately and professionally. \nSupport customer meetings, technical presentations, bid reviews, and Fabrication yard visits as required. \nAssist the team in meeting proposal deadlines, sales objectives, and key business deliverables while ensuring high-quality customer support.\nQualifications for the role:\nCurrently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Systems in the United States. \nAbility to work full-time between mid-May through mid-August 2027.\nIdeally have experience with Salesforce, Excel, Microsoft Suite.\nInterest in electrical distribution systems, power management solutions, energy efficiency, and emerging digital technologies \nMust have reliable transportation to and from the worksite. \nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. \nUtilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions. \nEffectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. \nExhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality. \nCollaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress. \nWhy ABB?\nWhat's in it for you\nWe want you to bring your full self to work-your ideas, your energy, your ambition.
