Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nOperations Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to manage a team of designers/engineers to deliver high quality, cost effective, and timely engineering solutions to customers. Each day, you will formulate plans and allocate resources to meet the agreed contractual and financial targets. You will also showcase your expertise by initiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing team development and continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering and design capability.\nThe work model for the role is: Hybrid\nThis role is contributing to the Automation Process Industries in South Africa. Main stakeholders are AUPI team project and service.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nProviding direction to the engineering team with a focus on functional safety, cybersecurity, on time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.\nEnsuring the projects/ operations value chain portfolio follow sound methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and that the projects are closed as per the contract specifications.\nInitiating, coordinating, driving, and overseeing continual improvement of processes and procedures to strengthen the engineering / design capability and efficiency, utilize agile methodologies to reduce engineering lead time, and enhance functional safety and cybersecurity.\nDriving team performance to ensure that the deliverables are met on time and as per the set contract specifications and safety, cyber security, and quality requirements.\nOur team dynamics \nYou will join a. dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.\nQualifications for the role\nYou enjoy working with Engineering Resource assignments, team competency development, projects engineering, service engineering and sales support and the Materials & Mining, Metals & Power Conversions, Pulp and Paper Process Industries market\nYou have 5 years of experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering\nPossess an enhanced knowledge of ABB electrification and automation products and services\nYou are passionate about engineering resource management\nDegree in Engineering, proven experience of electrical, electronic and software engineering practices\nYou are at ease communicating in English\nYou hold current driver’s license valid in South Africa\nWhat’s in it for you?\nWe want you to bring your full self to work on your ideas, your energy, your ambition.
