As an R&D Engineer within electro\nnics hardware development, you will work with both existing products and new product development initiatives. You will be part of a cross-functional agile team and collaborate with colleagues across ABB's global R&D network.\nThis role offers a great opportunity to work across the full product development cycle, from concept and design to testing, validation and production support. If your goal is to expand your technical knowledge or further develop your background in electronics development, you will be supported by experienced colleagues and a collaborative team.\nIn this role, you will:\nDesign, develop and implement analog and digital circuits from concept phase through serial production.\nCreate schematics and define constraints for PCB layouts.\nDefine verification specifications and validate designs through simulation, laboratory testing and prototype evaluations.\nDocument developed solutions and support the transfer of new technologies into production.\nCollaborate with product owners, product managers, system architects and software developers to translate market needs into hardware requirements.\nContribute to product development initiatives by identifying opportunities for technical improvements and innovation.\nStay updated on technology trends and developments relevant to ABB's products and solutions.\nEngage in internal and external networks to expand your knowledge and skills.\nTake responsibility for hardware development activities and collaborate closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams.\nContribute to ABB's innovation efforts, including intellectual property and patent-related activities where applicable.\nQualifications for the role\nM.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related field.\nAt least 2 years of experience in electronics development within embedded systems in an industrial environment.\nExperience designing electronic circuits, creating schematics and working with simulation tools.\nExperience in testing and validation of electronic prototypes in a laboratory environment.\nExperience working with voltage levels up to approximately 1 kV is considered an advantage.\nKnowledge of EMC-compatible design is considered an advantage.\nWillingness to travel internationally (less than 5%).\nFluency in English, written and spoken.
