Join us and help run what runs the world.\nReporting to the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Manager, you will be responsible for promoting occupational health and safety in order to create a healthy and safe work environment for all employees, suppliers, customers, and visitors. The incumbent will support internal teams in implementing preventive measures necessary for the effective operation of the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. They will also ensure that all applicable laws, regulations, and standards are understood and followed during activities at the Bromont Distribution Center.\nThe successful candidate will provide HSE expertise and leadership to continuously improve site performance and employee engagement. You must act as a change agent in fostering a culture of “Zero Accidents by Choice.”\nThis position contributes to ABB Canada’s ELIP division and is based in Bromont.\nThe work model is 100% on-site.\nResponsibilities\nLead the implementation and promotion of the health and safety culture.\nAct as a support resource and coach for employees and managers regarding occupational health, safety, and environmental management.\nEncourage a proactive attitude toward HSE.\nPromote and coordinate prevention activities (corporate programs, risk assessments).\nParticipate in accident and incident investigations, prepare reports, ensure appropriate follow-up, identify root causes, and verify that suitable corrective and preventive measures are implemented.\nDevelop and identify relevant training activities and needs, and design or deliver various training programs.\nTake a proactive role in deploying and implementing internal HSE programs.\nParticipate in the implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety, and Environmental Management System (ABB Way).\nPrepare for and participate in internal and external audits (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, government agencies, and insurance partners), including serving as an internal auditor.\nMaintain documentation related to the management system in collaboration with program owners.\nFacilitate and coordinate HSE meetings and activities.\nPromote teamwork within the HSE team.\nParticipate in and collaborate on the development and implementation of corporate policies and standards with the corporate team.\nAnalyze workplace risks such as air quality, noise levels, lighting, thermal stress, and other occupational hazards.\nPrepare and report statistical data in the appropriate databases.\nQualifications and Skills\nCollege diploma in environmental studies, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, a certificate in occupational health and safety, or another relevant discipline.\nMinimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant occupational health and safety experience in a distribution and/or industrial environment.\nAbility to act as a change agent through informal influence.\nProactive approach.\nExperience working with HSE management systems, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.\nKnowledge of applicable occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards.\nStrong focus on workplace behavioral safety systems.\nKnowledge of manufacturing risks, including machine safety, lockout/tagout, working at heights, ergonomics, etc.\nStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.\nSelf-motivated, able to manage priorities, results-oriented, and capable of analytical synthesis.\nLeadership skills.\nTeam-oriented with a positive and collaborative attitude.\nStrong customer service orientation.\nExcellent French and intermediate English proficiency.\nExcellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.\nEmployment Equity & Inclusion Statement (Canada)\nABB values the dedication, commitment, and expertise of all our employees.
