Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nProduction Engineering Manager__\nThe work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDefines the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.\n\nEnsures appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets; Ensures the production process complies with the project targets.\n\nIdentifies and recommend improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality, and cost requirements; Approves the design for processes developed internally or externally and performs final tests with respect to the project.\n\nProvides support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources; Evaluates new process technologies to improve productivity, quality, and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.\n\nQualifications for the role\nBachelor degree in engineering\n\nMinimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution facility\n\nKnowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SAP (or similar ERPs) is strongly preferred\n\nKnowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and 5S is preferred\n\nExperience with project management and proven history of driving and sustaining change.\n\nCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\n\nMore about us\nABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
