Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nOperations Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities:\nThis role will specifically be aligned to the start up of a new product in Richmond, VA.\nThe Integrated Production Unit Leader (IPU) ensures efficient and cost-effective production results that meet order demand, specifications, quality, and planning targets through the coordination and management of plant equipment, personnel, and production processes (quantity, quality, budgeted costs, and proper productivity level). The role encompasses planning and fulfillment, assembly, packaging and test for both in-house production and contract manufacturing.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a team within a Production unit or line to execute production processes, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost-effective manner. Each day, you will ensure continuous and efficient operation in accordance with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards and policies. You will also showcase your expertise by organizing and allocating resources to meet line production targets effectively and efficiently.\nThe work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, Virginia\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nHiring a great team of production supervisors, fulfillment specialists, quality engineers, and assemblers that will help to to launch a new production line.\nCoordinating with process engineers and procurement specialists on setting up the new line.\nEnsuring that production scheduling and production plan meet the volume requirements agreed upon in the demand plan and defined inventory service levels; Driving strong Health and Safety Culture.\nRecommending technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary; Identifying deficiencies in production area, proposing improvement activities, and overseeing implementation of actions to improve production performance.\nManaging the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams; Owning material fulfillment activities.\nProviding support to the Sales team, as required, during customer visits to explain the capabilities of the manufacturing facilities; Collaborating with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles into production processes.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor degree in Engineering or Supply Chain or related field PLUS minimum 8 years experience in manufacturing and production\nDemonstrated leadership of production teams and fulfillment teams.\nSAP experience required\nManufacturing experience localizing new products\nCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\nMore about us:\nABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
