Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nIS Manager__\nThe work model for the role is: Hybrid, Cary, NC\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role as IT Operations & Enablement Lead, you will own the operational process of the IT Business Systems team including training, governance, planning, reporting, and budgeting - as a single accountable leader. Each day, you will analyze user support data to sharpen our IT systems delivery across five business areas.\nThis is a role for a builder-operator, not a coordinator. You will own six interconnected functions that define how the IT Business Systems team runs, how the business perceives it, and how effectively it serves its users.This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on continued investment in the team.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nBusiness reviews: Monthly packages for five business areas across two user groups. A decision forum, not a status dump.\n\nBudget: Owns and reconciles the team budget monthly. Contractor forecasting is the hard part.\n\nIntake governance: Runs the APT process. Can tell a director their request is not first this month and keep the relationship.\n\nEnd user training: Reads ticket data, builds what is needed, and knows when training is not the answer.\n\nInternal team enablement: Develops our own people across ECC, S/4HANA, Vistex, Vertex and TMS.\n\nProvide operational support to the team's leader.\n\nAI knowledge platform\n\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor degree in computer science engineering or related field (MBA/masters degree preferred)\n\nMinimum 10 years of experience in enterprise business systems - SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA preferred, with exposure to Vistex, Vertex, SAP TMS, or comparable platforms.\n\nSubstantial experience (5+ years) running operational governance in a matrixed environment - intake processes, business reviews, prioritization frameworks - across multiple business areas simultaneously.\n\nYou have managed or co-managed a team or project budget - comfortable with variance analysis, forecasting, and presenting financial narratives to leadership.\n\nDemonstrated track record of designing and delivering training programs in a business systems or enterprise IT context - not coordinating someone else's curriculum, but building your own and measuring whether it worked.\n\nSkilled in AI-powered platform delivery - you have built or significantly contributed to building a knowledge platform, self-service tool, or intelligent search system using RAG, knowledge graphs, or similar architectures.\n\nPassionate about transparency and intellectual honesty\n\nTravel requirement less than 20%\n\nCandidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\n\nMore about us\nABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas&Betts), helps manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket.
