Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nProduction Supervisor__\nYour role and responsibilities:\nThe Tool Room is responsible for machining, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling, fixtures, and components used in manufacturing and general operations. This role requires expertise in CNC and manual machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement techniques. The machinist will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to support tooling needs, troubleshoot issues, and improve manufacturing efficiency.\n Key Responsibilities:\nMachining and Tooling FabricationOperate manual and CNC machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) to fabricate tooling and components.\nProgram, set up, and run CNC machines using G-code.\nModify and repair molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures as instructed.\nUse precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure part accuracy.\n\nTooling Maintenance and TroubleshootingDiagnose and repair worn or damaged tooling, ensuring production continuity.\nPerform preventative maintenance on fixtures and cutting tools.\nWork with engineers and production teams to identify and resolve tooling issues.\n\nBlueprint Interpretation and DocumentationRead and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions.\nTrack and report time worked on tooling and fixture projects.\n\nShop Organization and Inventory ManagementMaintain proper storage and organization of tools following 5S principles.\n\nSafety and ComplianceFollow company safety guidelines and proper handling of cutting fluids, chemicals, and materials.\nEnsure all machine guarding and PPE requirements are followed.\n\nQualifications for the role:\nRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n3+ years of experience in a machining, tool room, or mold-making environment.\nProficiency in CNC and manual machining (lathes, mills, etc.)\nStrong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.\nAbility to troubleshoot and repair tooling with minimal supervision.\nExperience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)\nUnderstanding of material properties, heat treatment, and machining best practices.\n\nPreferred (but not required):Experience in injection mold repair and maintenance.\nKnowledge of MasterCAM, Creo, or DraftSight.\nWelding and fabrication experience (MIG/TIG).\nLean manufacturing or 5S experience.\n\n Benefits:\nWhile hourly pay rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay starting between $27.50-$38/hour. 1st shift hours are 6:00 AM- 2:30 PM Monday - Friday.\nGo to myBenefitsABB.com and click on “Candidate/Guest” to learn more\nHealth, Life & Disability\nChoice between two medical plan options: A PPO plan called the Copay Plan OR a High Deductible Health Plan (with a Health Savings Account) called the High Deductible Plan.\nChoice between two dental plan options: Core and Core Plus\nVision benefit\nCompany paid life insurance (2X base pay)\nCompany paid AD&D (1X base pay)\nVoluntary life and AD&D - 100% employee paid up to maximums\nShort Term Disability - up to 26 weeks - Company paid\nLong Term Disability - 60% of pay - Company paid.
