Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nU.S. Segment Strategy Leader - Industry, Buildings & Channel (IBC)__\nYour role and responsibilities:\nThe Strategic Segment Leader for Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology is responsible for supporting ABB growth within the life sciences market through industry expertise, executive relationship development, opportunity identification, market intelligence, and sales enablement. This role engages customers early in planning and design cycles to develop qualified opportunities and enable sales execution.\nThis role is contributing to the Industries, Building & Channel Group in the United States.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDevelop ABB's Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology growth strategy.\nIdentify and qualify opportunities before RFQ issuance.\nBuild executive relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, biotech firms, CDMOs, EPCs, engineering firms, OEMs, and integrators.\nSupport thought leadership through industry events and associations.\nMonitor manufacturing, biologics, cell and gene therapy, and facility investment trends.\nCoordinate cross-business opportunities across Electrification, Motion, and Automation.\nServe as Voice of the Market and provide sales enablement.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor's degree and 10+ years relevant experience required. \nMinimum 5 years of business development or strategic sales experience. \nExperience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, or related markets. \nKnowledge of power distribution, automation, controls, or industrial infrastructure.\nFamiliarity with cGMP, validation, cleanroom, and regulated manufacturing environments\nStrong executive relationship and hunting skills. \nAbility to travel 40-60%\nCandidates already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\nMore about us\nABB is a global technology leader driving sustainable and efficient solutions in electrification and automation.
