Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nProcess Quality Lead__\nThe work model for the role is: Onsite, Richmond, VA\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role as Process Quality Electronics Engineer, you will have the opportunity to support the deployment of the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nAnalyze all the defective electronics components returned from customer sites and inhouse rejections and take corrective action necessary.\n\nDevelop new testing equipment in co-ordination with a cross-functional team to test the electronic components.\n\nMapping current manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement through automation.\n\nFocus on continuous improvement by utilizing lean manufacturing principles.\n\nProvide training and support to users on new processes, ensuring smooth transition.\n\nKeep track on emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.\n\nQualifications for the role\nBachelor in Electronics Engineering or related engineering field PLUS minimum 2 years of experience\n\nProficiency in analyzing electronics components.\n\nAbility to read and interpret schematics of electrical equipment and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).\n\nSkilled in using electrical test equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes and power analyzers.\n\nFamiliarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.\n\nCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\n\nMore about us\nABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and manufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
