Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis Position reports to:\nProcurement Team Lead - Automation SourcingYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the businesses. Each day, you will execute assigned activities as per ABB standard procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by delivering and participating in training programs as required to ensure compliance and to foster professional development.\nThe work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid\nThis role is contributing to the Process Automation business for BA Function Operation Centers and Quality division based in Bangalore, India\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDevelop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies for automation and industrial project materials, sub-systems, and services.\nLead competitive bidding, RFQ/RFP processes, techno-commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations with suppliers.\nOversee end-to-end procurement operations including purchase order management, supplier follow-ups, expediting, and delivery tracking.\nManage inbound and outbound logistics operations including freight, customs clearance, and last-mile delivery.\nEnsure full compliance with Indian customs regulations, import/export policies, and statutory frameworks (e.g., DGFT, GST, EOU/SEZ norms as applicable).\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related discipline) - mandatory.\nPostgraduate qualification (MBA / PGDM) in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Management - preferred.\nProfessional certifications in Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CIPS) are an added advantage\n10 to 15 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, and logistics - preferably in the automation, industrial technology, power, or electrical engineering sectors.\nDemonstrated experience in project-based sourcing for automation or industrial projects (e.g., DCS, SCADA, drives, switchgear, instrumentation, MV/LV panels).\nPrior experience working in companies of similar scale and complexity to ABB, automation/engineering firms.\nProven track record of delivering cost savings, supply chain optimization, and supplier development in a project procurement environment.\nMore about Us:\nThe Energy Industries Division serves a wide range of industrial sectors, including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation and water.
