Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nQuality Manager__\nABB is hiring in Hackettstown, NJ!\nAs a Quality Engineer, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification and development processes. Additionally, lead the execution of supplier assessments, driving both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. This position also manages the supplier's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nThe work model for the role is onsite at Hackettstown, New Jersey. #LI-Onsite\nYour role and responsibilities:\nAssess and evaluate manufacturing and customer issues and problems that are submitted in the Positive Action Resolution and Response System (PARRS). Direct accountability for addressing customer issues within your assigned area of accountability across all product lines manufactured in the Hackettstown Plant. Provide direction and action plans for key improvements in quality metrics including FPY (First Pass Yield), CCRP cycle time, DPPM (Defective Parts Per Million).\nIdentify and recommend equipment and methods used in measuring product or process quality, while maintaining and improving safety and housekeeping practices\nSupport quality planning activities and customer audits on process, products, and the quality system. Conduct audits of Quality System and ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Standards. Review non-conforming products within the Material Review Board process. Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences Report.\nDrives approval process for supplier parts, materials, and project subcontractor services, as applicable, involving collaboration with other functions/experts, encompassing activities like Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and product surveillance at supplier manufacturing sites. Partners with suppliers to implement agreed improvement activities from product and process perspective, including workshops at supplier's facilities as appropriate.\nQualifications for the role:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Opex, SCM (Supply Chain Management) or Manufacturing roles\nQuality certifications are a plus.\nISO 9001 experience or prior oversight for QMS (Quality Management System) preferred Six Sigma Certification\nUp to 10 percent of travel is required.\nAbility to coordinate several projects\nCandidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.\nWhat's in it for you\nWe empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes.
