Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nQuality Manager__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will support the implementation of the local quality strategy, driving a strong quality culture, continuous improvement, and sustainable problem-solving. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will ensure that all purchased materials and services meet ABB standards by qualifying suppliers, monitoring performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve world-class results.\nThe work model for the role is: hybrid \nThis role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings / Supplier Business Excellence & Development in Schaffhausen. \nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nSupplier Qualification & Audits: Qualify and approve new suppliers and conduct regular process, system, and product audits.\nQuality Requirements & FAI: Define and communicate quality requirements and lead First Article Inspections and qualification processes.\nPerformance Monitoring & Improvement: Track supplier performance using KPIs (e.g., PPM, OTD) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nNon-Conformance Management: Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure effective corrective actions (8D/CAPA).\n Qualifications for the role\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent professional experience\nGood knowledge of English and German (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus\nExperience in supplier quality management and supplier audits (ISO 9001, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949 or similar)\nKnowledge of APQP/PPAP and First Article Inspection (FAI)\nStrong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis methods (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)\nUnderstanding of statistical quality methods (SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R)\nKnowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, and material/component specifications\n Benefits\nWe also offer our employees the following benefits:\nEmployee share acquisition plan (ESAP)\nREKA credit\nEmployee discounts (MyDiscounts / Swibeco)\nParental leave\nFitness allowance\nMore about us\nABB Smart Buildings enables optimization of energy efficiency, safety, security and comfort for any building type, through new installations or retrofit solutions.
