You will be a power electronics scientist working with global and local research teams.\nYour responsibilities\nConduct research and technology development in the field of power electronics used in variable speed drives.\n\nStudy the basic principle and analyze the root causes of existing issues in products.\n\nTrack cutting-edge technology in variable speed drives. Scan local science and technology progress in power electronics relevant for variable speed drives.\n\nBuild long-term collaborations with global research teams and local academic societies.\n\nExecute research projects and keep communicating and networking with all related stakeholders.\n\nAdhere to ABB integrity and compliance policies.\n\nQualifications for the role\nPh.D. degree in power electronics or other related electrical engineering majors.\n\nSolid theoretical background in the following areas with publications in renowned transactions / journals.\nVariable speed drive topologies\n\nMagnetic component design\n\nPower semiconductors application (Such as device modeling, gate drive, heat dissipation design, condition monitoring, failure analysis, etc.)\n\nAC/DC and DC/DC power converters\n\nEMC design\n\nExperiences of the following areas is a plus:\nPCBA design\n\nGeneral programming skills on DSP or FPGA.\n\nHands-on experience in commissioning.\n\nSelf-motivated, high curiosity and able to work under pressure.\n\nTeam player with communication and interpersonal skills\n\nGood in both oral and written English\n\n More about us\nABB Drive Products serves the industries and infrastructure segments with world-class drives and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
