You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team.\nThis role is contributing to the EL Smart power business in Xiame China.\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nPerform the design and engineering of LV power distribution systems (up to 1000VAC and 800VDC) for data centers and marines, including main switchboards, UPS, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and sub-distribution panels.\n\nPerform switch gear/power module product development, include but not limited: Concept design, 3D model creation, Mechanical simulation, make validation testing solutions, create 2D drawings and BOM.\n\nSpecify and select major mechanical and electrical components (circuit breakers, busbars, protective relays, meters) based on project requirements and total cost of ownership.\n\nFamily with a blend of standards: IEC 61439, IEC60947, GB/T7251, GB/T 14048, Uptime Institute Tiers. IEEE 45, IEC 60092, GB/T 22195 and major Classification Society rules (e.g., ABS, CCC, CE and UL).\n\nAuthor detailed technical specifications and documents for LV switchgear and associated equipments\n\nLead technical clarifications and customer requirement evaluations, provide technical support to vendor proposals to make sure the product complies with design intent, industry standards, and client specifications.\n\nCreate and release vendor submittals, including design drawings, test plans, and factory acceptance test (FAT) procedures.\n\nCollaborate closely with internal teams (Mechanical，Control) and external stakeholders (clients, panel manufacturing) to ensure integrated and optimized designs.\n\nProvide technical support during construction, commissioning, and site acceptance tests (SAT), resolving complex design-related issues on-site.\n\nDrive innovation by researching and implementing new technologies to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and scalability。\n\n Qualifications for the role\nBachelor/Master’s degree in electrical engineering.\nMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in electrical design, with at least 3 years focused on LV switchgear/motor control centers (MCC) for mission-critical facilities (Data Centers, Hospitals, Semiconductor Plants and Marines), have experience in low voltage 800VDC system development .\nExpert knowledge of international electrical standards: IEC 61439 & GB/T7251 (LV switchgear assemblies), IEC 60947 & GB/T 14048, and a solid understanding of IEEE standards.\nProficiency in AutoCAD and Creo for design review and collaboration.\nFluent in English (both written and spoken).\nExceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.\nMore about us\nABB Smart Power provides energy distribution solutions for data centers, industrial and\nmanufacturing plants, critical infrastructure and commercial buildings.
