Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nTechnical Product Manager__\nYour Role and Responsibilities\nAs an R&D Testing & Lab Specialist, you will play a key role in testing and validating innovative electrical distribution products, including consumer units, plastic enclosures, and installation materials. You will be responsible for executing laboratory test plans, maintaining certifications, coordinating with external laboratories and certification bodies, and ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards and electrical regulations.\nYour main responsibilities include:\nExecuting routine and qualification tests for new and existing products.\n\nDefining, planning, and executing test plans while ensuring timely completion.\n\nMaintaining product certifications and supporting certification processes.\n\nCoordinating testing activities with external laboratories and certification bodies.\n\nIdentifying product non-conformities and proposing technical solutions.\n\nSupporting maintenance activities for laboratory equipment and test setups.\n\nAssisting external certification inspectors during product testing activities.\n\nEnsuring prototypes are assembled correctly and that test results are accurately documented and reported.\n\nYour Working Environment\nYou will be based at ABB's R&D Center in Ede, part of the Smart Buildings Business Line. The team develops and validates products used by grid operators, installers, OEMs, and distributors.\nThis is an office-based position. You will primarily work from our Ede location and occasionally travel within the Benelux region to external laboratories, certification bodies, and ABB facilities, including our factory in Belgium. Travel accounts for approximately 25% of your time.\nYour Team\nYou will join a team of approximately 20 professionals, with 16 colleagues based in the Netherlands and additional team members located in Belgium and Spain. The team combines extensive technical expertise with a collaborative and supportive culture.\nEveryone contributes to a shared goal, and international collaboration is a key part of the role.
