Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nDesign Manager__\nSenior Design Engineer (Power Electronics)\nYour role and responsibilities\nWe are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team at ABB Oy, High Power division. High Power division is further investing in drive system development in different fields of applications and thus strengthening its design organization. Look no further - we have an interesting opportunity for you! You will get to work with our power electronics design group. The role is located in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, Finland.\nMembers of the power electronics design group are responsible for main circuit and power electronics design in various product development projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deep-dive with advanced technology in demanding projects as a part of a highly skilled team. Project related responsibilities will be agreed based on your background and experience. In addition, you will have the opportunity to further your career in a global company.\nThe work model for the role is: hybrid\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nDesigning, dimensioning and verifying the main circuit and power electronics of frequency converters\nSpecifying verification tests and analyzing results\nCreating design documentation\nResearch of new components and power electronics topologies\nCo-operating with subcontractors and with other design disciplines (e.g. mechanics, electronics, verification)\nMentoring of younger colleagues\nQualifications for the role\nM.Sc. in power electronics or in a related field\nRelevant work experience in product development project(s)\nKnowledge of electrical drives’ AC-to-DC, DC-to-AC and DC-to-DC topologies\nDeep understanding of power semiconductors and inductive components\nDemonstrated ability in filter design\nProficiency in simulation tools (e.g. Simulink)\nFluent communication in English, both written and spoken.
