Join us and help run what runs the world.\nThis position reports to:\nR&D Team Lead Modular Metering__\nYour role and responsibilities\nIn this role, you will drive prototyping, testing and certification of New Product Development (NPI), Cost out and product quality baseline programs for Enclosed Residential products. Additionally, you will execute projects in collaboration with R&D team.\nThis role supports the Electrification, Smart Buildings Division\nYou will be mainly accountable for:\nCoordinate with design teams to develop test programs to evaluate new products, Cost out initiatives, and legacy product baselines\nSchedule and facilitate sample builds with manufacturing, in-house prototyping teams, and outside vendors. Assemble samples as needed.\nAct as liaison to 3rd party certifiers, co-developing test plans to demonstrate standards compliance (Underwriters Laboratory and other global certifiers)\nDevelop and execute test plans to evaluate new product designs, Cost out initiatives or product baseline programs to meet internal ABB requirements, reliability targets, and statistically significant sample sets.\nCoordinate and schedule testing with internal and external test labs\nCreate test requests based on interpretation of certification standards, such as UL67. Document and analyze data from these tests.\nTear down products & take measurements or root cause analysis on product failures.\nWork closely with the design team to provide input and feedback on product designs\nPartner with 3rd party certifiers, such as Underwriter’s Laboratories, to evaluate and document products according to applicable standards.\nMaintain ownership of all Enclosure UL file and Test programs\nEnsure all test methods are compliant to the regulations of the applicable standards (e.g. Underwriters Laboratories (UL), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and International Standards Organization (ISO)).\nIdentify cost out opportunities within the product line through work sessions, brainstorming and cross functional collaboration.\nLead and execute projects in collaboration with cross functional teams.\nOur team dynamics \nwe push ideas forward to solve real problems.
